The law is different in every state. However, usually if your car cannot be driven, the person at fault for making it so is required to put you in a vehicle of like condition. So if you are driving a brand new BMW, make sure they put you in one.

Also, you probably want to keep your insurance company out of it if you can handle the claims adjusters from the 2 yourself. Because if you contact your insurance company and file 2 claims, you will likely be dinged for your premiums the next time your policy renews. Most people will say if it's not your fault, then your rates won't increase, but that is not true. Your rates CAN increase just because of the amount of "incidents" whether or not they are your fault that you have in a year. There may be some circumstances where calling your own insurance company will help you...see below.

As for the people at fault. Make sure that the insurance company for the 1st accident knows immediately about the insurance company for the 2nd accident and vice versa. They will each send out people to evaluate their individual liability on the vehicle. The two insurance companies may end up splitting the cost of a rental car, too. Remember the $30 a day to put you in a rental car is PENNIES to an insurance company.

However, if you start to feel like you're getting the run around from either of the insurance companies, call your insurance company and file a claim with them. If you have full coverage on your vehicle, they will handle EVERYTHING for you. They are legally obligated to deal with the whole thing and to put you back in your car the way it was before the accidents and/or ensure that you are being paid out appropriately. If all else fails and the 2 insurance agencies are fighting over paying the bills, your insurance company will pay you for the total loss of your car, or will fix the damages. They will then send a bill to each insurance company and get their money that way.

Oh, and if you do hire an attorney, remember they will convince you to file an injury claim and they will take 1/3 of your settlement. If you don't have any broken bones or noticeable injuries, the settlement won't be enough to give away 1/3.

Sadly, it isn't that uncommon! Sorry for your bad luck! I'd suggest not driving for the rest of the week! I'm glad you're feeling ok!

Each insurance company should pay for the damage that each of their clients caused.

If the car is declared a "loss," I would think that this was the result of the second crash.

Therefore, it seems to me that the second driver's insurance company is responsible for giving you the book value of your car.

Just provide both insurance companies with whatever information and documentation that they require. I'm sure you'll be treated fairly by both. If you're not, call your lawyer.

You should definitely let both insurance companies know what happened. If the other drivers were ticketed, then you should still come out okay. Did anyone take any pictures of the vehicle after the first accident?

You need to contact the insurance companies of the people who were at fault (the other drivers) and file a claim through each company. Since the other drivers are at fault, their insurance companies need to pay for your damages. Tell them that you are in need of a rental car, sometimes the insurance company will approve of that.

Do what you gotta do to get what is rightfully yours....if you have proof that both accidents were not your fault and the insurance company has a problem then dispute it with confidence because you have the law on your side to help you.

The coverage companies will the two recognize, in case you tell them or no longer. As you reported, one hit you contained in the rear and the different in front, 2 diverse aspects. in case you by no ability reported injuries for monday's twist of destiny, then you definately can tutor for this one, while you're injured. Now in case you have collision coverage, then i'd advise you bypass by using your individual coverage and enable them to subrogate the different coverage companies for the money they laid out. in case you have apartment coverage, then hire the automobile. in case you do no longer, i will advise you wait to talk with the financial automobile's coverage employer. I truly have considered people hire vehicles and that they did no longer have the authorization to take action and ended up with a large apartment invoice. they are going to hire you a automobile yet communicate with them first to stay away from a concern. while it contains the upkeep, in the adventure that your harm is greater advantageous than what the automobile is worth, they supply you what the automobile is worth. in the adventure that your harm is below what the automobile is worth, they supply you the wear volume. that is in simple terms the way it works. surely, in the adventure that your no longer injured then getting your automobile fastened isn't a controversy. yet supply your self a pair of days before you supply any statements to their coverage companies declaring your no longer injured. maximum folk don't experience injured till a pair of days after an twist of destiny has got here approximately.

Talk with your insurance company AND their attorney. They are at least semi-on-your-side. Also get ready to dig deep into your pocket when your next insurance premium rolls around.
