If we live by the Word of God and the Word says that something is a sin, hasnt judgement already been made by God? So if I say that adultery or fornication and so are sins
how is it that anyone could think that I am judgeing as I am only going by the word of God.
Keep in mind I do know that any of these sins can be forgiven and are forgiven , if we repent.

nosnod,

Read 1 Corinthians 5: 12-13

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you"

What Paul is saying here is, if those brothers and sisters that are part of the church of believers and claim Christ are in the sin of some kind whether adultery or fornication, we should rebuke them ( in love). Paul is saying yes, we are to judge those within the church. But, the people that do not even know Christ, we are to tell them about the salvation of Christ, tell them the good news. We are not to judge non-believers of the sins the are taking part of. They are lost in their sin, they are asleep. We didn't know any better either before we know Christ.
Preach the love of Christ to the lost. Christ will deal with their heart. He will show them their sin. A lot of times if you go around judging the lost who are in sin it turns them off to Christ. They don't know Christ. All they see is some self-righteous high and mighty person pointing the finger at them.

If we live by the Word of God, we learn about different sins through His word. This is what I believe the Bible speaks about as "righteous judgement":

"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." - John 7:24.

While I believe we can judge what a sin is or not, we on the other hand, should not judge the eternal fate of another's soul, that is God's judgement

It is because of the 'tone' that some folks use. The implication from what you have said above is that you are saying that the person to whom you are speaking is a sinner. It is not up to you to say that they are a sinner, it is up to THEM. It sounds like you think that you are not one of "them". It sounds like you are 'better'. Or as they say "holier than thou'. I am sure that you mean well, but it is the way in which the message is delivered that turns people off and sounds very judgmental.

Let us look at the AA program as a better example. In AA only the alcoholic can call them self an alcoholic. Only they can acknowledge their faults. Most people feel that members of AA are non-judgmental and they are. All are there for the same reason. All have don't things they are ashamed of and sorry for, but you do not see the same sort of blame that you do when a 'born again' Christian tries to convert a non-believer.

The problem is most non-believers in the God of Abraham do not understand the meaning of the term "Judge" as it was used in the Bible.

The judgment spoken of in the Bible is that which says "You are going to heaven - You are going to hell." It is not the type of judgment that says "What you're doing is wrong, it is a sin."

You see, most of the people who have a problem with the term "Judgment" have not read the Bible with that in mind. It is a very common problem.

Society and humanity is judging. We all feel closer to each other when we have a common enemy.

Though Christians are told not to: Hate the sinner not the sin. Judge not lest ye be judge.

They do it anyway though because they are human. Judging others is the only way some people can feel good about themselves. Putting others down helps them feel raised up. This is life.

Maybe it would be useful to understand that non-christians for the most part do not accept the bible as any authority. It is predominantly accepted as authority only by christians.

So, when christians use the bible to condemn unbelievers....to hell because of their unbelief in god and/or sin, and quote from the bible to support their "reasoning", it should not surprise you that these unbelievers would think the christian is judging them indirectly by hiding behind some book and their god.

I hope I was able to make you see things from a different perspective.

You are right. God has already made the judgement and the judgement is written in his holy word. Relaying the Word is what you are required to do. God wants all saved, even those who resist his great Love.

Judge not, let thee be judged.

The point being, if it's obvious, why tell the person? Words alone are not communication. The phrasing, body language, and tone of voice tell the story of judgment as well.

Many will also perceive it as judgment simply because they don't believe in the same "Word" that you do. Forcing God's "judgment" upon them is perceived as judging them.

Plain and simple, guilt.

When one exposes sin in our lives, people tend to not want to face it, but excuse it or deny it. So the hard wired self-defense mechanism is to reply, "You're judging me."

To be fair, some Christians tend to point to the sins of others before examining their own, which is contrary to scripture. Before accusing others of having a dirty house, it would be good to clean out our own.

I think it's so much easier to repent, and ask forgiveness, then to hide and defend the wrongs that we do.

I just have one thing to say. nosnod lives by the Bible just about better than anyone I know. I only know her on Yahoo, but I inadvertently wrote something very hurtful to her. SHE apologized to me. When I tried in my poor way to apologize to her, she was loving and kind and assured me that there was no problem. She is more tolerant and less judgmental than many who are ranting. She asked a question. She said what she believes. That's our right in this country. And your right not to believe and to state it.
