Sometime between then and now, somebody else was bound to eat the fruit and sentence us all to eternal damnation?

I mean, yeah, if Adam and Eve didn't eat, and perhaps they multiplied with children year after year after year (well, there was no time back then), but all these billions, and billions of people lived on earth.

Wouldn't there at least be SOMEBODY who would've looked at that tree and ate the fruit. I mean, if not Adam and Eve, it may have been Eric, and Meagan, or Steven and Jessica, or Grandpa Louis and Grandma Gloria....It could've been anybody!
I think we should give Adam and Eve some slack...

I was not aware that people get mad at Adam and Eve.

What I do believe though is that at that time in the garden of eden Adam and Eve where innocent like little children and didn't even realize that they were naked, until after they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Before they ate of the fruit they had no desire for sex, nor did they even realize what it was. So the only way the fruit would get eaten would be by Adam or Eve, because they would have no thoughts to procreation prior to eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This means that none of their descendants could have eaten of the tree, because there wouldn't have been any.

Personally I am grateful that they did eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, because if they hadn't then none of us would be here today.

In the bible it mentions that Adam and Eve didn't "know each other" meaning they weren't having intercourse before the fruit. They were like children. I'm LDS and we have lots of respect for Adam and Eve because they made the tough decision to leave the garden (they knew ahead of time they wouldn't be able to stay) so they could have a family. We revere Adam as a prophet like Moses and Abraham. I think he and Eve were very brave, they didn't really know what they were getting into.

I like your attitude. But honestly, if one of their children had disobeyed God while Adam and Eve had remained obedient, the present world today would not have existed!

Their obedience would have been enough proof to God and to the multitude of angels. Satan would have had to admit defeat then and there. That is why, the obedience of ONE perfect human, Jesus Christ, was enough to defeat Satan!

By the way, here is a point women might gloat about! Eve was deceived and sinned. Adam sinned knowing fully what he was doing. Adam and Satan caused the problem. Eve was just being used! This the Bible states unequivocally.

I believe that Adam and Eve are saved. They were kicked out of the Paradise and they had to die later, but they were not sentenced to eternal damnation.
I agree with you. Someone else would have taken fruit from that forbidden tree. :)

Agnostic here, but if I was a believer, it is clear that god intended them to eat. ( if he could put a serapim with a flameing sword before the gate, he could have had one guard the tree).
It goes to the idea of the fortunate fall, that the world redeemed is more valuable than an unfallen world.

The story of Adam and Eve and their disobedience is a metaphor, and not extremely difficult to figure out. It might take a few years, but it is an adventure. I won't ruin it for you.

I doubt that anyone gets mad at Adam and Eve. Even if the story were true (which it is not), people can still lead good lives.

I agree. It was all part of ALLAH's plan for Adam(PBUH*) and Eve to eat of the tree of good and evil.
