Hinduism by and large is a religion without limits. To worship Hindu gods in most Jain households is a prevalent practice. On the eve of the Diwali (also pronounced Deepavali) one would find a horde of replicas of Indian deities installed for worshiping.

For a Hindu... to worship Jaina deities is not common, but for a Jain family to worship every Hindu deity is common.

Rituals form a part of extensive and deep praying. Conducting Hindu rituals in Jain families is not common but worship is.

Whatever the scriptures dictate is not followed in Toto. In India it is the case with every religion and faith. People of one religion respect all other religions equally. If one born in a Jain family has more faith in Hindu gods... none stops him from doing so. Every one is free to do whatever ones will permits.

On the contrary... a follower of Hindu religion may worship Jaina deities as one desires. Nothing stops him from doing so. In the present times the feeling of patience, persistence and perseverance practiced in Hinduism is at its peak. Everyone is free to abide by ones will.

In Hinduism it has been made aptly clear that all paths lead to the same goal. Whether you follow the Hindu rituals or the Jaina doctrine... both lead to the same goal. This becomes the governing factor for most people governed by Hinduism at large.

The Hindu religion is not predatory by any means like many other religions in the world. The prime reason why Hinduism by and large is a religion of dharma, compassion, forgiveness and ahimsa! More on Jainism - http://www.godrealized.org/what_is_way_of_life.html

My religion is to learn. I read my Bible better in the light of your Bible and the dark prophecies of my religion become brighter when compared with those of your prophets. Truth has always been universal. If I alone were to have six fingers on my hand while all of you had only five, you would not think that my hand was the true intent of nature, but rather that it was abnormal and diseased. Just so with religion. If one creed alone were to be true and all the others untrue, you would have a right to say that that religion was diseased; if one religion is true, all the others must be true. Thus the Hindu religion is your property as well as mine. Of the two hundred and ninety millions of people inhabiting India, only two millions are Christians, sixty millions Mohammedans and all the rest are Hindus.

Hinduism is an open religion.

Anyone can worship Hindu gods.

We don't have any rules stating that no one from another religion is allowed to worship any Hindu gods.

Forget janism or other religion. Use commonsense. I dont think god would mind if one worships them from any where anyhow. Some teachings are wrong, so commonsense is one answer among others
