Have you ever landed at the Catalina Island airstrip? Any caveats, recommendations or scary experiences?

Use the visual approach aid. There are a lot of visual illusions at play here...your tendency will be to end up high, but the runway is pretty short so make sure you're right on glideslope.

The runway is pretty crappy and full of potholes, so use a soft-field technique.

Bring cash: theres a landing fee payable to the guy on the second floor of the terminal building.

Take some extra time and fly around the island. The backside is amazing. just make a comnplete circle around the whole thing, its very worth it.
