Well this 'old people' thinks that God is a force of some sort in the universe which we as humans can not ever comprehend. The greatest power in the universe appears to be the power of Love in all of it's positive forms, but mostly in sacrificial love. That is giving of ones self for another, such as ones life. We know that once there was a man name Jesus who showed us what Love in action looks like. And some of us follow his teachings.

I do not think that our life is pre-planned or destined. Life is given to us to enjoy and to help others enjoy. We are meant to live fully, love much and laugh often. And we are to help others to do the same. This is where true Love comes into play. We must be non-judgmental, compassionate, forgiving, slow to anger, and kind. When our life is over, God will ask us only one thing... how much do you look like Jesus? God will look deep into your heart to see if you followed the laws of Love.

Well, it's impossible to lump all old people into a single group, particularly on a topic as divisive as religion.

One stat that I find compelling - suicide rates among the elderly are the highest for any part of the population. More old people kill themselves than even teens.

The way I see it, if you believe in a God, or believe that you have a destiny, then suicide is ridiculous. Therefore, it may be fair to say that as people age, then they lose some of their respect for the concept of a Higher Purpose.

destiny is a idea born out of indecision and incredibly cowardliness we can say. for this reason question of pre-decision is void ab-initio. it is your decision and works in accordance to it which make a distinction in you with others. some incorrect interior the previous no longer consistently limit a guy to do solid at modern and in destiny. from time to time situation also performs a crucial position in making judgements, which encounter someone interior the destiny to undergo with. courageous human beings consistently had triumph over any gray and at very last were favourite wining over the awful. destiny is hence no longer to be the destination. Will potential with utmost sensible decision will win over any situation.

I am an old person.
I am 65.
I do not believe that god has ever existed, therefore the second part of that question is invalid.
There is no pre-planned destiny.

I’m old enough to know that we are pre-destined according to scripture.

This must be true because we don’t get to choose our parents, our genes, or our time and place of birth.

I don’t believe this takes away from our free will. He allows us to make decisions in life. For example, he may lead us to an open cash drawer full of money, and then allow us to make our decision.

A paradox is nothing to God.

Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Old people? Of course they believe god exists. This questioning is new. The older generations still think its all real. They had that pounded into their heads from the day they were born. The enlightenment started in the mid 20th century when they started to realize that people deserved the freedom to choose.

God exists. He gave us our free will but He knows how we are going to use it. We have a choice to make. Free will makes things interesting.
