I've had unstoppable diarrhea for over 2 1/2 days now. My stomach is "gurgling" and now my butt is starting to get real sore. I took an anti-diarrheal, but it hasn't kicked in...what can I do? It's getting real annoying and painful!

A little more info....I'm 22, I've NEVER had a problem with this b4 and I thought it might have been food poisoning, but everyone has been telling me that if it was, should of cleard up by now. I'm taking hydroxycut, but have been on it for a month now, so I'm assuming if that was the cause, it would've done this by now. I havn't drank from a well or anything...are there any stomach flus that could cause this? Thanks for your tips!

Take Imodium AD. Drink Gator Ade to keep from getting dehydrated. If it goes on another day you need to see a doctor.

other than irritable bowel syndrome, I'm wondering what you were taking before this happened. I'm guessing your still a young adult.
If you were taking:
drugs: the side effect of some of these drugs (especially antibiotics) destroys the good bacteria in your colon causing your body to involuntarily flex your intestines and sphincters to excrete all material in your digestive tract

Dirty water/food: basically you risk your chances of dysentery/e. coli poisoning every time you drink water from a stream or a river or any body of water in the wild or food from a questionable place. This is also called traveller's diahrea.

If your still going to the bathroom like this for a week then go to the ER.

yeah, i know JUST what u mean. i have IBS (irratale Bowel Syndrome) and i know ALL about the diarreah. what i did b4 i was diagnosted with IBS, i took some jelly thats called "Black Berry Seadless". it works, just eat some on a spoon, or on toast. i know it doesnt sound like it works, but TRUST me it DOES. its like when u have a bladder infection u drink cranberry juice. this is just the same way. BUT make sure its says SEEDLESS on it. if it has seeds in it, it will just make it worse. Good Luck. i would get urself checked out @ the doctor.

PS
avoid Raw veggies and Fruits. this will just hurt ur stomach. also try avoiding some milk products. u need to drink A LOT of fluids. MAKE urself drink a lot of fluids, u will become dehydrated, if ur not already. Good Luck♥

Do you know what caused it? Do you think it's food poisoning or just the flu?
I would definitely be concerned about becoming dehydrated.
Drink lots of fluid and call your doctor ASAP.
Those Anti diarrhea pills never work for me, just make me feel worse.

Hon, you'd better call your doctor's office because, as I'm sure you're aware, diarrhea can cause dehydration. If you don't get on top of it, this can become serious. I sure hope you're at least drinking Gatorade or Pedialyte. Call their office. They usually have a nurse practitioner line you can call after hours to get advice. It's free. They may have some ideas to help you.

Also, use vaseline on your butt before you poop. It will protect it from the burning of the diarhea and it will make cleanup less painful. Yep, it's a gross subject but we're adults here.

Drink "flat coke", that is, coca-cola with the fizz taken out.
