It depends on the quality of the dog, who you get it from , whether it is a male or female and so on. In most cases if you are wanting one just for pet they usually cost around $600 for males and $700 - $800 for females. They do come cheaper, like around $500. To give you a better idea of price range, you can check the link out below.

Oh by the way, I would stay clear of "online" and back yard breeders. Stay close to your area when buying a pup and do not get one from pet stores.

depends on the breeder and what they think they are worth, avoid the trashy backyard breeders, if and when you go to buy your animal and the breeders have all ikinds of dogs they breed, RUN, bad business there, them places need to be shut down. Buy from a breeder who cares about the walefare of the pup, who only has bred their lab and not 10 different labs and not 50 diffrent kinds of dogs, and most important if you see alot of kennels Leave. some people give away their older female labs to good home cause they can no longer breed them and them people need to take a look at the BREAD and BUTTER them animals put on the tbale while you were breeding and selling the pups

Check at the Humane Society and animal shelter. They sometimes have pedigree puppies, and dogs that you can adopt.
