I had my stent removed today.?

Hi. Three weeks ago the doctor put a stent is to prevent the kidney stones from blocking. Today I had it removed. Whenever I go to the bathroom I see blood in urine. Is this normal? If so, for how long?

Yes, this is normal. You may experience any or all of the following after stent removal:
back pain for about an hour or so
bladder symptoms for up to 48 hours
blood in urine for up to 4 days

The blood is nothing to worry about unless it seems unusually heavy or if it persists past 4 days. If either of those occur, please call your doctor immediately.
