It is something guys do. Guys get bored esily and get distracted. To ease their bordom, tehy flirt.

Well from what I understand,some guys just do that because they are arrogant and like to think they are the best at what they do. He probably thinks he can get you for a booty call or something,and just to get your attention and to show that he can waste your time,and to try to see how far he can get with you. I've learned that most guys like to"play the field"even though they really don't like the girls they talk to. It's called"keeping your options open".That's all I can figure based on your question.

It's flattering for the girls and all girls like to be flirted with. Builds there self esteem and is a nice thing to do.

its a power thing i guess. I feel goods to have girls that are attracted to you. Always don't try to act like you've never pretended to like a guy so he can help you with your work or something. All i know is it just boasts a mans ego when he does that and gets a positive feedback.
