The other answers pretty much summed it up. While you may be able to get a decent job in the future, the chances are are greatly limited. Most employers will want to see a copy of your dd-214 and while most won't know what your re-entry code represents, everyone knows that a dishonorable discharge is no good. Also since you can't really receive a dishonorable without being convicted at court-martial, you probably will also have a criminal record.

you may attempt with an application to the Board For Correction of Naval archives. yet, you'll opt for an outstanding form of info to teach that the army erred in awarding you that discharge. besides the indisputable fact that, except it became presented as area of a sentence from a familiar courtroom Martial, i do not comprehend the way it can be a Dishonorable Discharge. that's extra in all likelihood that the launch became an undesirable Discharge, or a familiar Discharge lower than lower than honorable circumstances, except you've been convicted by technique of a particular courtroom Martial wich can award a nasty habit Discharge. utilising Senatorial impression received't artwork. the purely way that Senator can get it executed is with a particular bill of relief. and that i do not imagine the esteemed Senator needs to chance his colleagues' wrath for doing some thing like that.

You are pretty much screwed.... It will follow you all your life, you will have big trouble finding a decent job, getting credit, getting a mortgage and so forth.
A dishonorable discharge means the person was kicked out of the military for very, very serious crimes or violations.

Disgrace
No use of your GI BILL - meaning:
No VA loans
No college money
No Medical Care from the VA
Then....you are ineligible for all federal student loans (which is all of them). You are going to have to pay every cent if you want to go to college.
Ineligible for all grants and scholarships for college.
No employment with any government contractor companies or any company that does business with the government, this includes McDonald's.
No real job is going to hire you because they do background checks too and anyone who doesn't will want you to explain the time you were in the Navy and why you got out.
Whatever you did wasn't worth the lifetime of problems you will now have because of bad choices.

For a start, whenever a prospective employer asks if you were in the miltary and what kind of discharge you have,
you're going to have to do a lot of explaining.
