A guaranteed approval credit card are often used by those who have a bad credit history and are unable to obtain a normal credit card. But a great benefit of these types of cards is that will help to improve your credit rating as well as providing you with the benefits that a normal credit card has to offer. Often the limit for these types of cards will generally range between $5,000 and $10,000.

When applying for a guaranteed approval credit card usually no credit checks are required. However, although you will be approved for such a card regardless of your income or credit history generally they will have higher interest rates compared to normal credit cards.

Often when applying for a guaranteed approval credit card you will need to agree to pay upfront fees and charges that are made on the card. Also you will have to agree to pay a processing and annual fee that the credit card company charge will charge in order for you to use this type of card.

It is so funny how the world works. It is hard to get your first credit card, but after you open Pandora's box, you'll never stop getting offers in the mail. My first credit card that I got was a secured credit card from Orchard Bank. They are a very good place to start out. I think that I put down $250 and I got it back after 1 year of on time payments. Really worked out great. Check out www.orchardbank.com for information. You can apply on-line. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

If this is your first credit card, you are best to open a checking and savings account at your local bank or credit union.

If they deny an unsecured credit card, then request a check/debit credit card with the VISA or MasterCard logo. This is a credit card that is directly attached to your checking account and your credit limit is the dollar amount in your checking account.

After 6 months of 'charging' transactions, you should have enough history for your bank to review and re-consider offering you an unsecured credit card.

If you need to further build your credit, you can also ask your bank for a small 'credit builder starter loan'. This is simply a loan made to you by your bank equal your deposit in a certificate of deposit that your bank holds as collateral. After you pay off the small loan with no late payments, usually in 6 months, the bank will release your collateral and you will have an open line of credit for that dollar amount.

Starting and building credit takes time. Do it right from the start.

There are many options to help you build your credit history. You can find a complete list of credit cards here:

While these types of credit cards usually have higher interest rates (and fees) when compared to 'standard' credit cards-- they'll give you the opportunity to build you credit history and improve your credit score. In time, you'll be able to apply for better offers with lower APR's and less fees.

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

"Get a Rewards credit card. Reward credit cards reward you when you spend on the credit card. Normally, you can collect rewards through 3 ways.

* It involves earning cash back on the card, it depends on the amount you spend.
* Next one involves giving points to the customers. They can be redeemed for gifts like cosmetics, shoes, water heater, mobiles and other goodies which the credit card company offers.
* The last method of reward is providing airmiles. Airmiles are highly popular reward, as many customers like to redeem them for free flights or flight upgrades. Whatever type of reward credit card you opt for, carefully note the amount or rate at which rewards will accrue and also read carefully other terms and conditions.

If you really, really don't need a credit card, then don't get one. Credit cards can lead to financial nightmare if you over charge and only pay the "minimum balance due". Don't live on credit, live within your means.

Just apply for one. You can search for cards online. As it's your first card, you'll probably have a high APR and a low credit limit, but use it wisely and your credit willl improve in no time.
