It's not just Mexicans in welfare, whites, black, asians, every culture is in welfare.
people think just because we are immigrants that we are not good, that is not true. You're just racist!

OK, I am opposed to Illegal Immigration on the basis that it is ILLEGAL and not what ethnicity you are. I could care less if you are black, white, hispanic or oriental. If you are here ILLEGALLY, you shoudl be deported IMMEDIATELY. I care not what coutry you came from nor do I care the conditions in your country. It is your country, do something to change it. If I have a problem with the conditions within my own country, I do something to promote change. If I was an illegal immigrant in any other country, I woudl be deported immediately without any questions. In any other country, if I do not speak the language, I am out of luck. In the USA, if you do not speak the language, you are considered a minority and have to be accommidated. Enough is enough. This is the USA. Illegals need to be treated as the law proscribes and deported. As for welfare, that is a program which has become far too big. Welfare needs to be pared down. After 6 months, without exception people need to be taken off the welfare payroll. The system is being taken advantage of and at my expense. Why do I go to work every day and pay all the taxes I pay? To give away to people who have never paid into the system? No. A social safety net needs to be in place for those who truely need it, but it needs to be a short term safety net. This opinion also has nothing to do with race. I do not care what color or nationality you are. I am just tired of being taken advantage of by people who manipulate the system at the honest taxpayer's expense. Is that racism?

I have no problem with a mexican. I have a problem with an illegial one. It's not racism. It's care for my country. It's me not wanting my children and grandchildren to have to worry about weather or not they're going to get shot up because some illegial is having a bad day and doesn't have anything to loose. Do you see how many mexican gangs are in Southern California?
I wonder if you realize that by saying that we're racist you're being the racist? All mexicans tend to hate White Americans. Why? Because we care about our country, I guess. Because we don't leave our country when it gets rough like everyone who is leaving Mexico does.

Illegal immigrants who work for much less money than Americans are like scabs during a strike who take the union striker's jobs for less money. They are bringing down previously set standards of pay and standards of living that people in this country actually gave their lives to make things better here. People here went through the crap it takes to make a better life.
If there weren't so many illegals, it wouldn't be such a big deal. Millions of them are changing America for the worse, although I'm sure its unintentional. They need to go home and make their own country better.
If they must work here illegally, they should demand the same amount of pay as some people used to get and learn English. Why would people come here and work for peanuts to live with 15 people in one house? To send all their money home and not pay taxes? By doing so, wages are driven down. We have to pay taxes. Do you think everyone should live in a house with 15 people so they can survive? Stop calling it racist. Its the undermining of our quality of life.
Legal immigration is just fine. The U.S. lets in as many people as it can absorb normally. I have no doubt that most who come here are hard working. Most Americans are hard working as well.

Your blanket statement about people is a racist statement. I personally do not have anything against Mexicans or against legal immigrants. I have a problem with illegal immigrants (because of their blatant disregard for our laws...if they respected the laws they would immigrate legally) and with people who are capable of working but are on welfare (regardless of race). If there is a legitimate reason someone is on welfare that is fine...it is the people who exploit the system I have issues with.

Not all of us are racists... Yes, there are some, but no more or less than any other country, race, or ethnic group. Look at the U.S. - we're so mixed - every race is represented here.
I love immigrants - legal ones that want to be a part of this country, and come the right way are welcome anytime, no matter who they are - any race, any religion, any nationality.
Its the illegal aliens that are a problem, and they come from all races and countries, too.

It is not immigrants that most people have a problem with...it's ILLEGAL immigrants that is causing all the distress. Let's face it; most of us have, in our background, ancestors who came to this country many years ago to carve a better future for their families...many came from Western Europe, Itay, Ireland, Asia....many of my own ancestors literally came over "on the boat" & had to stay at Ellis Island while they were being processed, before they could enter this country! But they did it LEGALLY.... & eventually became naturalized citizens.....Is it Racist to expect someone, regardless of background or color,to abide by the laws of any given country, to work & earn an honest day's wage, to provide moral integrity & spiritual support to one's family and protect and secure one's family values? As long as you are in the US LEGALLY,you have a right to all of these things. If you are NOT legal, you do not have my sympathy...sorry, but that's my opinion!

Illegal immigrant isn't a racist word. It means that you or some one broke the law.
Why are the people who are on welfare drive nice cars?
Why are the people on welfare dress in expensive clothes?
And the people who has to work to pay for lazy people who keep on having babies?
I work over 40hrs. My husband works.
Guess what when we both were out of work.
The people told me to my face I DO NOT QUALIFY BECAUSE I WASN'T AN IMMIGRANT.
THATS MY OPINION.

I think you're missing the point. I believe that the anger being expressed here tonight really has nothing to do with just being Mexican. I'm glad you're here and you are working hard to do as best as you can do, just like the rest of us. It's the ones who come here and are here illegaly and living off of hard-working taxpayers, like you and I, that need to be dealt with.

We do realize that is where we all come from, but we are many generations down now. Now we are "Americans".
There are more races in America than anywhere else in the world. Some people do not like fat people, Some people do not like red-headed people, people do not have to have a logical reason to be prejudice.
I hope one day we get to the point where race does not play a role, but we are not there yet.

He just referred to me a racist, because I don't support amnesty for illegals, and don't want my country to be invaded by millions of Mexican peasants -- that awful racist word---oh no--I am melting, melting, oh save me help me, I am dying here, help, help, it burns like kryptonite, I must get away, I must run away from the racist labeling, because it is so devastating to my character, I don't want to be called racist anymore, please have mercy on me, oh god no that racist accusation is manipulating me, I must submit, I must allow the Mexican peasants to swarm over the border, and use up the resources, and send their money to Mexico to bring over more peasants, I must be quiet, and not say anything about them reproducing like rabbits, and shutting down our hospitals, oh no the racist word is working, I think I might overlook the fact that 45,000 American citizens have been killed by illegals since 9/11, yes I must ignore all of the negative effects they are having on my country, because I don't want to be viewed as a racist by the hard working peasants........
