I have to sit behind the set of a play and follow along in the script so actors/actresses can ask me where we are in it. It's so boring. It's hours and hours of torture! What can I do to preoccupy myself? thanks!

I really don't know, since you are responsible to the actors, if you can concentrate on anything else while following the script. You need to keep your place, so the actors won't foul up. It is a position of high responsibility.
Why did you take this position, and why aren't you looking for something else--considering you find this position to be torture. I think that you would be letting everyone down if you did start to concentrate on something else while working.

Perhaps you could pretend your the director and imagine what you could do to make the play better step by step. Imagine what the actors and actresses should sound like according to you, and if you think its worthwhile and they would accept it you could give them your feedback. If you want to totally get out of the scene your in (can you still follow along?) you could pick a project you would like to do for example plan your wardrobe, what you need, what you could try mixing together ,accessories etc, etc Or redo your bedroom , plan new colours, and all the great decorating stuff you could do. Hope this helps a little.

How come you chose the good people of mental health to give you an answer. Well we are not all on meds and dull, dull. That is one way to manage life's boredom. I suggest you use music . There was a time that a pocket radio had good music. The other suggestion is to get on line more to those who are outcast like yourself and learn why life has passed you by . All your friends and family are scurrying around having fun but you are not allowed to watch. The churches say to watch and pray you know.

maybe bring a book or picture the actors in their underware that might help. or write some friends or write a play of your own. hope this helps a little
