Every Thursday and some Saturdays I have a track meet. What are some good snacks and food to bring because we usually stay there for about 6 hours?

I would take a small cooler with a variety of things. However, don't bring anything that will be too heavy on your stomach.

Examples of good things to bring (not all of these at once!):
sandwich
pretzels
fruits (apple, banana, orange, grapes. lots of this)
granola bars
gatorade or other sports drink
water
jolly ranchers
twizzlers
gum
sunflower seeds

Things to avoid:
items with dairy (milk, yogurt)
soda
juice
sugary items
chocolate

fruit granola bars not the chocolate chip cheap type the kidies take for snack time and not power bars [2 many cals andfat not good for u] but the ones that are basically trail mix in bar form and gatorade or poweraid go for juicier fruits like melons and kiwi instead of apples

If you aren't doing the running, but just feeding the crowd, here are some thoughts:

1. Grilled chicken legs and thighs
2. Chicken Tortilla Vegetable soup
3. Cole Slaw
4. Ham and brie sandwiches on focacia
5. Tortilla rollups with garlic and chive cream cheese and
thinly sliced roast beef
6. Beefsteak tomatoes with mozarella slices and vinegrette
7. Carrot and celery stix with peanut butter or cheese
8. Cupcakes, cookies, brownies

my husband belongs to a club called---the track nuts
so if i may ---
picnic and finger foods are the way to go

trail mix and nuts---don't forget the sunflower seeds and peanuts
deli style sandwiches and pbj sandwiches too
hard cheeses cubed-cut
crackers and chips
fresh fruits and veggies with dips
bottled water, juices and sodas---hot coffee or cocoa if you are going to a night meet

and please don't forget the sun block
have fun

Plenty of water and fresh fruits...I recommend oranges.
