You definately need to treat mom. If kittens have fleas, mom does. Call your vet and see what you can use on a nursing mother and also ask about treating the kittens. You also need to wash mom's bed and blanket to get rid of flea eggs. They hatch and multiply very quickly. Remember, do not treat bedding with flea spray, unless it is something you vet recommends. Follow their directions carefully. Baby kittens are very fragile.

Flea infestation on a 2 week old kitten is a life threatening situation. If the kittens have a mom. You should apply Advantage to the mom and the mom, in turn will Advantage the kittens. You should also bathe the kittens with a very mild shampoo. Baby shampoo would work. Do not use a dish soap. Also use a flea comb to get the fleas off of the kittens ASAP.

There are no products safe to use on kittens that young. A flea comb/tweezers to manually remove the fleas is the only option until they are a few weeks older and weigh more. Make sure to do it quickly/thoroughly as flea anemia can be a concern if they are infested.

Be sure to consult a vet, but I'm almost positive that 2-week-old kittens are way too young to be treated for fleas.

Dawn dish washing liquid soap. Just make sure you use warm water and keep it warm afterward until it is completely dry. Also make sure it doesn't get in the eyes or nose. I have used it on my kittens, and it work great but if it isn't severely infested I would wait as long as possible but fleas can also weaken a kitten so it is best to get rid of them also you must remove all the fleas on the mother...unless there isn't a mother.

I realy suggest taking your feline friend to the vet. As far as i know we cant even use normal off the shelf shampoo for fleas on young cats. And you realy need to deal with it cause kittens that young can be severly affected from fleas not to mention fleas will inhabbit your home.

You can use lemon dish soap to help get them off the kitten. Or bathe them in any citrus dish soap. You might also want to try a flea comb. DO NOT use any flea products, as they may absorb some through thier skin. You want to get them off though, because the kittens can easily become anemic from the flea bites.

Well, the best things to do is give it a bath in warm water and baby shampoo. I don't believe there is a thing you can use safely on such a young animal. I believe Advantage, which is extremely safe, recommends that the kitten by 6 weeks old before using it.

There are no commercial products for fleas that can be used on a kitten without harm or a painful death. Call your vet or local SPCA and ask their advice.

Treat the mother with revolution or advantage and she in turn will treat the kittens. If the kittens are away from the mother and being hand reared then ring Bayer (advantage) hotline or Pfiser (revolution) and ask them what they recommend
