when I was younger I tried as much as a could to clear acne...I used accutane and now im using proactive...of course i have calmed down a lot on using facial products for my skin but...

Do you think that my skin has been permanently damaged? I mean I don't want to age faster then others because of using all these products in the past....I am 18 years old right now..what is your opinion?

No. Accutane works on the sebaceous (oil-producing) glands. It doesn't age your skin. I took it, and it cleared up my acne. Proactiv is topical but it won't age your skin either. One thing you can do is wear sunscreen every day, rain or shine...even in the winter, because UV rays still penetrate the atmosphere. That's what I do, and my face looks so young people still think I'm in high school (I'm actually 23). Sunscreen is the best thing ever for your skin. That and moisturiser. Just don't put harsh makeup products on it, and you should be okay.

Well If it was permanently damaged It would have shown By now..Usaully they wouldnt have the Face stuff on the market if it does something like that. I mean I used alot of facial products now I just use Proactive. If you havent noticed any Problems on your face i doubt that It would Damage the skin..

I use to use a menthol mask on my face all the time because it was so oily and now my face is flaky and oily from using the masks. Now I just wash my face with facial soap and put a dab of lotion on. skin looks way better now.

whoa, accutane is so risky for women. I know I don't use too many products. I have very sensitive skin. I can barely stand salilylic acid.

P.S.
I know I butchered that word.

I wouldn't worry too much about that, but I do wonder about makeup and its long-term effects.
