Found one in and old attic and was wondering. The person helping me clean out his grandparents attic told me the story about how his aunt had to wear it from age 12 on.

Recent laws would differ greatly, as individual freedoms are becoming more accepted for women. In the current times, I would say no, it would not hold up in court to force a daughter to wear one. Being not particularly comfortable, nor being "user friendly" requiring a woman to wear such an item for any lengthy period of time would be considered torture by modern, western standards.
However, the chastity belt is often misunderstood. Originally, it was created to prevent rape. The key was held by the woman wearing the belt. Often, the belt would be worn only during times of war, siege, or travel.

no my mom made me wear one from age 13 till i was 18 she kept the keys and told me it was for my own good and i went to the cops they said its legal as long as im underage

Are you sure its a chastity belt and not a garter belt. Women your granny's had to wear them, cuz they didn't have panty hose in those days!! You better check and make sure before you ask your daughter put it on...it might make the problem worse!
