The first generation (from the top) would be your grandparents and their siblings. The second generation would be your parents and your aunts and uncles. The third generation would include your siblings, your cousins, and you.

lamb.chops has got it absolutely right. I would give her a thumbs up, but I'm only at Level 1 and aren't allowed to lol
The post above mine, while correct in general, is missing the siblings of each generation (meaning your aunts, uncles, etc.)
Oh, and also, I don't know exactly how detailed you need to be, but to be *totally* thorough, I think you could include the children and grandchildren of your grandparents' siblings (since they're a part of those three generations), but I doubt you'd be required to be so detailed for a school project.

moms mom moms dad dads mom dads dad
assuming it is just a three generation project and not a family tree. a family tree would list aunts and uncles on your mom and dads family as well as all your cousins and brothers and sisters, but i noticed the assignment is just for a three generation project and not a family tree.maybe you should ask to clarify it better.

Three generations-- You, your mom, and her mom...
I have a picture that's three generations, but it's me, my mom, and my dad's mom... I was 5 months old, cute as a button!... and wouldn't let go of Grandma's long pearl necklace...

three generations starting with you, would be you, your mother and your mother's mother (grandmother) and when you get married and have a daughter of your own she'll be a 4th generation that would make your mother a grandmother and your grandmother a great-grandmother.

ok unwell attempt to provide an party with my relations. paternal grandma: loose earlobes (ee) paternal grandpa: connected earlobes (E_) maternal grandma: loose earlobes (ee) maternal grandpa: loose earlobes (ee) dad: connected earlobes (might want to be Ee as E is from grandpa, e is from grandma) mum: loose earlobes (ee as both her father and mother are ee) me: connected earlobes (might want to be Ee as E is from dad and e is from mum) brother: loose earlobes (ee) sister: connected earlobes (might want to be Ee as E is from dad and e is from mum) and then construct a pedigree from this, and for instance, colored circles/squares are connected women human beings/men and uncoloured circles/squares are loose women human beings/men. you do not comprehend the paternal grandpa's genotype precisely till you comprehend what his father and mother phenotypes are. i wish that's sensible!!!
