someone experience in braiding can probably do it at around 3"...however, if you're white (which i hope you are considering your avatar is a white guy), they probably wont stay in very long just because you have "white" hair. africans started braiding their hair because their hair is very curly, frizzy, and extremely UNRULY and hard to take care of...braiding it was a way to keep it controlled. caucasion hair just doesn't have the same texture as african hair, so it just doesn't look the same, or stay in nearly as long...maybe a week or so, if its done really really tight? my advice? don't do it, but if you must, go to an ethnic salon, and they'll probably end up laughing at you.

it doesn't have to be very long i know some people who get it done and they use a sort of hair extention if the person getting it done wanted it really long..if you've been growing your hair for that long i'd say you can probably get it done...but my advice the BEST people who do hair extentions and cornrowes are african americans...i'm not racist or anything i just have gotten a lot of extentions over the years and they are the fastest at doing it and they always do a great job...GOOD LUCK

it depends who does it as some people i know can pick up hair that is an inch and a half and others need the hair to be longer if uve been growingit for three months im guessing ur hair is about 1 1/2" so this is possible

At least one inch. some great braids can do it with less hair, but your hair will come undone. Or the braids will be too tight. Your hair should be at least one inch in length.

As your avatar would indicate, you are Caucausian. Leave cornrows to African Americans - it looks ridiculous on Caucasians, B-Rad
