I wrote down the calories (as near as I could figure them) of everything I ate in a little tiny notebook (the kind that fits in your pocket).
I limited myself to 1500 calories a day ( I was 230 pounds , 6 Feet tall)
I didn't do any real work outs or anything.
Lost 30 pounds in two months... but I followed the calorie limit exactly... didn't matter what I ate, If I wanted 1500 calories of Snickers bars then that's what I ate.. but I never went over the limit.
I was simply taking in less than my body burned over time and that did it.

I visited a dietitian. She set reasonable goals in loosing weight.
The right food, a bit of exercise and lots of SHAME took off 80 lbs in 16 months. I was terrified of the potential embarrassment of not dropping this pound or so every week.
Losing weight should be done in a healthy manner. Leave it to the experts.

Have you ever heard of Spark People? It's like Ediets but it's FREE. I go there and I love it! You can track your progress, they'll give you a nutritional program or you can track your food. There are many motivational articles and communities with caring people and teams you can join. If you do decide to join, look me up I'm under Honeybea and please let them know I referred you. Good luck and I hope to see you soon!

Luckily for me, I was younger when I was overweight, so all I had to do was eat healthy and cut back a little bit and let growing do the rest. Some motivation however, you only get one body in your life, after you're dead will you be proud of your body (excluding aging effects) or ashamed?
