OK guys, I'm a bit lost here.

Lets say I have a list of names

danny
Mike
Steve

Now, I defined a name for this range, called LIST

Now, I want to use a list box so I can scroll in the box, pick
the name, and then have the name appear in the "cell link"
area I identified in the format control section of the list box.

However, I never get the name appearing in the cell link cell, I get the number of the position of the name in the list.

EG, If I scroll the list in the listbox and pick MIKE, the number 2
appears in the cell link.

HOW do I get the word MIKE to appear instead of the number of the list????

HELP!!!!!

Thanks

Did you use DATA / Validation / and selected
LIST to build your list. If not, thats the problem.

The reason your getting the number instead of the name is probably because you have a number selected for the Format. If you right click in the cells that will have the names in them, select Format Cells. Select the NUMBER Tab and select either General or Text. Then OK. Your names should appear after that.

If not, you built the List wrong.

Hope you get it working. Cheers!
