No, I don't think its normal at all. I raised 5 children and they where in school and had after school jobs as well and they helped out at home too. They stayed busy and out of trouble. All are grown and have never been on drugs and don't even smoke. I am so grateful. Life is full of challenges.~~~~~Jill

It's completely fine, and it's not as though there's anything wrong with it. But really, if you want to earn completely your own money, then you should find a job. I mean, you're already 18, and 16 is the actual age you can start a job, so you should be capable of finding and working one. If you earn money from your parents, it's not really earning money, because it's your own family who you're taking money from.

You still live at home? Consider yourself lucky that you aren't paying rent. You should be getting a job though weather it be a McJob or something at a retail store.

As long as they want to pay accept it. If they don,t want to pay are really don,t have the money do it any way. I don,t think age has anything to do with it. Many college students work for their parents at that age.
