Shouldn't have any trouble with a police clearance for an unpaid bill - unless it went to court and you have a warrant against you, which is very unlikely I think!

it is not an offence not to settle a phone bill unless you took out the contract fraudulently the police in scotland will not normally give you a letter of clearance but if you write to the Chief Constable Strathclyde Police Pitt Street Glasgow G1
explaining your dilema he may pass it to someone who will do a computer check to verify you have no criminal convictions you can also e-mail at the address on the website
www.strathclyde.police.uk i would not mention the mobile phone bill it is not his concern as such contract are covered by civil and not criminal law good luck.

Debts to a mobile phone company are covered by TORT, which is Civil Law.
so any proceeding brought against you because of it would be a civil court proceeding.
This is completely separate from criminal law, and will not affect your police clearence.
However it iwll affect your credit rating, especially if you get a summons to court for it and get a CCJ

Unless you defrauded the mobile company somehow, this would not show up on a police check, a credit check maybe as there may be debt collection agencies looking for you.

How many times are you going to ask this question?.Your none paid bills have nothing to do with the police but could affect your credit rating if you try to apply for loans or any kind of credit.

No, a debt to a mobile phone company will not show up on a police inquiry. Even if it has been turned over to a debt collector.

All that will show on a police clearance is any criminal offences. Debt is a civil matter not criminal.

That would be a civil matter, not a criminal one, unless they've made a complaint of theft and you've been arrested, charged & convicted. I think you'd know about that!
No conviction = no criminal record.
