Question pretty much states all...

Heh...As all of your answers are great, I'm afraind that I wasn't clear enough... ^^;;
You see, the water system in my area is highly polluted with chlorine. Whenever I wash my hands or do the dishes, my hands swell up and sometimes blister. They look as if I tightly tied thread to my hands and left it like that for three days. I did an experiment and soaked my hands in the tap water, then in spring water and my hands had no reaction to the spring water, but it had reaction to the tap water. The weird thing is, when I shower, my whole body does not swell up. Just my feet, palms, and chest. I thought it was Eczema, but it looks completely different. My skin just swells up, dies, and peels off and has occasional blisters. I believe it is either an allergy or sensitive skin reaction to chlorine, but it may be something else. I don't need any type of remedy, I just need to be sure that my assumption is right.

Funny question. I am allergic to chlorine and have never met anyone else with the same allergy! Sometimes I have no reaction at all, sometimes just very itchy and other times I get raised patches that look like large welts. (think of a belt mark!) I can usually avoid the worse reactions if I shower immeadiatly after getting out of a swimming pool. But to answer your question, everyone reacts differently. Some mild reactions are nausea and vomiting, some are hives, and some are respiratory symptoms.

To add to your inquiry. Our local pool uses BORON not chlorine to sanitize pool water, first check with your local water supplier and ask what chemicals they use to treat your tap water. Consider also what face creans you use, my wife had a bad raction to tap water when using non hypo allerginic
creams.

you cant be allergic to chlorine chlorine is a deadly gas, i am not advising you to do this but if you mix ammonium and bleach you will get chlorine. remember do not do it, everyone is allergic to chlorine because it is deadly, your lungs will tighten up, and you may urinate.
