If you choose to not believe that's fine by me, but what are you trying to do? "Save" me from heaven? Prevent me from not committing adultery? Are you trying to tell me that I am giving up something by believing in God?
I just don't get why non-believers are constantly trying to disprove God. If you don't believe, that's ok with me. So why does my faith bother you so terribly?

For example: I see that just because I said I was a Christian, I am getting comments about being concerned with other people's spirituality (I stated in my origional question that I am not), and comments about my lack of education.
Sadly, both of these things are incorrect. I am educated, and I am not here to try and convert anyone, or push my faith on them.

OH, and sorry, I don't go to church. My faith is based on my own studies. I prefer independent study to worship services.

I didn't vote for Bush, so don't blame me.
And I am sorry that you can't buy beer, but that's not because of me either. Our store sells beer all day long. My husband picked up a case this evening.

I do believe in God...however I can understand why so many act as they do. They are sick of the lies and accusations that many Christians place against all NON-Christians. We are all just Human...no-one any better than the next. The sooner we figure that out and stop judging others, the better!

I can' think of any logical reason why it does concern them. The only thing I can come up with is it's a fear, particularly with Atheists...there so scared they are trying to destroy any link to God. They may have succeeded removing pray from school and God from Government buildings among other things plus the stuff that's a work in progress. But it's not going to change the fact that is a Christen nation. There are hundreds if not thousands of religions in this country and no one particularly cares what religion you are or lack of except for Atheist. I don't care if they don't believe in God, that;s there prerogative. After all, this is a free country and why they are allowed to continue to offend the majority of this nation absolutely baffles me. For a free country I often wonder what happened to the majority vote and when is our Government going to say "ENOUGH'. Regardless of the situation/problem it seems the minority rules. I guess they would rather offend the majority opposed to the minority.....Duh!

Witch burnings, Crusades, Iraq, President Bush.
Many people believe or at least suspect that religion plays a strong role in politics. (Would anyone argue against this?) This is disconcerting to many people, particularly if another religion is threatened by this. And some people believe that religion is harming the world. IE all the religious wars throught history and the present.

I don't associate myself with one religion in particular, and I'm not overly concerned about your faith. I don't try to disprove God at all. I'm not telling you that believing in God is good for you or bad for you. In fact I would tell you that your beliefs ultimately don't matter, because beliefs aren't fact. Either God exists or doesn't, whether you believe it or not.
Your thinking seems to be a bit misguided here. It's almost as if someone's been bothering you regarding these questions.

I've never tried to disprove god. In fact. I would be happy if someone could prove him to me. Unfortunatly, the arguments I see on here range from the really weak ( "just look at nature") to the pathetic ( circlular, cause he bible says so reasoning) to the truely absurd ( why are there still monkeys). My responses generally are not against god or his existence per se, but agasint the proofs put forth as evidence. ( Though I admit the occational fundi crack since they are the worst abusers of the rational process.)

I don't care too much about your personal life, but I feel compelled to point out that the current President of the United States claims that God told him to invade Iraq.
And in the context of the Bible and the Christian faith, that's perfectly reasonable. Also, Reagan's Secretary of the Interior said, "We don't have to protect the environment -- the second coming is at hand!"
That should scare us all.

I am a Christian I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour in the spring of 2004. This is the typical reaction of the unsaved: "stop trying to shove your religion down my throat!". I and my friend had that same reaction from the same guy whom we used to be friends with, that man is engaged in satanic practices, and sodomy (homosexuality) an abomination to the Lord! It's very true that they don't mind other belief systems, but when it comes to Biblical Christianity, the King James Bible, and you mention Jesus Christ people go bananas! These people are under the infulence of devils and they just love their sinful lives too much, they will make any excuse to remain in sin to their detriment because if they do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour by repenting (being sorry and willing to turn from a life of sin) to a thrice Holy God who's laws all of us, including myself and still do...I'm only a sinner saved by grace, have broken they will surely spend an eternity in hell after they die! This is not my opinion this is straight from the word of the Lord. It is not a joke!
All truly born again Christians (I say truly because this term has been given a twisted meaning, so has the word "Christian", and so has the word "religion"..so has "Bible". I could go on.) must be concerned for the lost. Jesus gave us the great comission to go out into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Jesus does not want us to shove it down people's throats, nor are we able to convert people for that is the job of the Holy Spirit (who comes to dwell in those who are saved). Whether people believe or not Jesus really exists and all of us are going to be before him one day. Sadly too many are going to be at the Great White Throne Judgement, which is for the damned, because they rejected Jesus love gift.
There's freedom of contious people can believe what they want even if they are wrong. Satan sets up these other religions to decieve billions of people from knowing the truth, he wants them in hell...and ultimately that is whrere satan and his devils will end up. There is absolute truth and people can know it all you have to do is go to God ask him to reaveal himself to you and show you what the truth is...why wouldn't people want to have their sins forgiven and live eternal life with God and Godly people in Heaven who never lie, or steal, or hate! Where there's real love, peace, and joy!
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

First because Christians are constantly trying to preach to people of my faith. The best defense is a good offense.
Also is it not a bit pretentious to equate non-Christian with Atheist?
You do realize that the Majority of the world is neither Christian or Atheist.

The intrinsic problem is the number of "Christian" lies. There are numerous users who use clear lies to promote Christianity. The problem is that Christianity is a matter of faith, almost completely lacking in evidence. Every lie in favor of Christianity exposes it limited factual basis and compromises its moral foundation. Figure out how to eliminate the un-Christ-like Christians and focus on the positive, or expect to lose all rational arguments.

My main reason is the fact that Christians keep trying to push this "intelligent design" nonsense into the education system on equal par with evolution, which like it or not, has been proven with over whelming evidence. Last but not least, they want to get laws passed that affect us all, not just them. Other than that you are free to believe what you want. If you want your kids to learn creationism, you can teach it in church, but don't shove into science class.
