For the most part I am in shape and I am not over weight at all, but I have a bit of extra weight/flab around my waist, mainly on the sides of my waist. I've read about so many different exercises but does anyone know which one's will work the best?

I would suggest trying all of them. Not all at once though. That way you can figure out what works best for your body and which ones you like to do.

Lift weights because the slight increase in your lean mass will burn extra calories 24 hours per day. This will increase your resting metabolic rate. However, some cardio helps.

Whatever workout program you chose, make sure it includes all of the major muscle groups. This is because the largest total muscle mass you can train is your whole body. Besides, spot reduction does not work. Also, maintain good nutrition.

Here are some links to a sample routine and info about getting leaner.

Jogging, either around the neighborhood or on a treadmill for at least 30 minutes 4-5 times a week.

look, type in abs bootcamp into google. pick the first listing. this is the best combination of workouts out there. I have used it, my friends have used it. It is hard, very hard, but you will not have the flab if you do as it says.

Running is great! I love to run, and i hope you will too. Running helps your heart and the endorphins are great too. The only downside: too much running leads to foot problems. But it is a great fat burner and muscle builder.
