The last litter that my sweet kitty had I though for sure she was going to have at least 7 (the most she's ever had in one litter) and as it turned out she only had four. In my opinion, the size of her her belly is not an indicator of how many to expect as much so as an indicator of when she is due, I have come to find that the size of her belly is contingent on her surroundings and certain other conditions weather etc. If she looks like she ate a cantaloupe melon chances are your can expect them somewhere in the range of a week and 10 days, -if not sooner. If your cat is trustworthy of you, you can actually gently place your hand in a soothing manner over her belly while she's laying on the bed or somewhere soft and you will actually feel the little ones inside moving about! Or if she's really tight, while she's laying on her side watch her belly closely and you even see them moving under her fur! Best wishes!

I grew up on the farm, and we had this cat that had a litter 2-3 times a year. She would get so huge, but she NEVER had trouble giving birth. We used to watch all the time. I agree with your vet. If you have ever felt an expectant mother's belly, you know it gets harder than it appears. Cats are the same way. Our cat's felt like a basketball, and we could see and feel the tiny heads inside. Enjoy her pregnancy with her.

Larger kittens is nothing to be alarmed about. And about the cat giving birth, don't even worry about it. It could be spontaneous. And let the cat be when she is giving birth because she will take care of everything on her own. And don't you even think about touching those kittens for the first few weeks because the mother will be SUPER protective of them at first. I hope I helped! :]

It is normal for a cat to be huge when pregnant. Also don't worry, you're cat will know what to do when the time comes for her to give birth. My cat had her first litter and it went just fine. Don't worry it's in her nature. She just knows what to do.

You were right in calling the vet, and you should trust his advice. You might watch and see when she starts looking for, or making "a nest", birth is eminent. Help her along, and try to have a dark, quiet place with something soft....but cats are fussy and usually pick their own places to birth. Hopefully not on your silk bedspread.

Cats are like us. When they get close to the end of their cycle, before birth, they retain a lot of water. If she is not in pain, I would not be concerned. They do become very uncomfortable, when it is close to time. I would only worry, if you saw a sign of trouble. From your description, I do not see any trouble at this time.

YOUR CAT IS FINE, THE MORE LITTERS THEY HAVE THE EASIER IT MAKES IT ON THE MOTHER, AND THE MORE KITTENS WITH EACH LITTER AFTER THE FIRST LITTER, AND SO ON, AND SO ON. SHE'S ABOUT READY TO HAVE THEM WITH HER BEING SO BIG. OPEN A CLOSET, PUT A BIG BOX UNDER THE TABLE OR BEHIND THE COUCH AND LAY A COUPLE OF TOWELS IN IT FOR HER TO MAKE HER BED. SHE'LL BE FINE............I LOVE KITTENS, YOUR SO LUCKY...........

YES I DO.WHEN MY CAT GOT THAT BIG WITH HER SIDES ALL, OUT IT WAS 1OR 2DAYS WHEN THE KITTENS CAME.get the laundry basket with old towels and let her know where it;s at to have her babies,,she;ll start crying to let you know there coming,.,.after she;s all done put clean sheets or towels and a old pillow so the babies can get to her teats for milk,,,she might even have them tonite if she;s that big,,,be sure to put her +kittens bed in a quite dark spot because she;ll be really busy after there born for at least 3days,,don;t touch the babies till there at least 2weeks old or she may go and hide them and that's not good for kittens,.good luck to your new family coming,./,

When my cat had her kittens, I saw no signs either..it just happened! If she is that large, it will most definitely be real soon.

cats and mother nature are the best of friends...since you have chatted w/your vet..I assume that all is under control and "normal"...give her the chance to surprise you with her babies...give her privacy..dont fuss at her...dont mess with those babies..and call the vet w/questions....
