Firstly, we must keep in mind that your brother is only thirteen. I would be very surprised if your parents got mad at you.
You can tell your parents in confidence (which I am sure they will agree to) and then let them discreetly do their own investigating and observing.
If your parents are sensible (and I am sure they are) they will praise you for being so astute, in fact they should ask you to give them the same access to those messages that you have.
By you telling your parents, you just might have saved him from a life of hell in the future. Choose when your parents are not stressed but in fact in a good mood. Tell them that you need to talk to them about something very very serious and that you need their assurance that they will listen to your whole story and not chastise you for the method you used to get your information.
As a parent, I would be shocked to hear that they might be angry with you.
Many years ago my twenty year old daughter told us about our son who was fifteen and started smoking marihuana. Thank God, we very quickly got over that problem. But had we not known, who knows where our boy would be today.
I am sure that you will see that they your parents will be very grateful to you and perhaps your brother will also be grateful sometime in the future. Good luck and be brave, do what you have to do, you must.

I don't see why they would get mad at you especially if what he's doing is hurting him. So you sneeked a peek what if you didn't and the next time he did it, he died of it. You are saving his life and you only love him. let them know you are sorry. But his friends and girlfriend are not good news. And they need help too. They all would more likly go to rehab. Plus if they ever got caught with any drugs they would be thrown into jail.

If your parents are reasonable human beings, they will not be mad at you. Your brother might be for a while, but it might be because he does not fully understand the ramifications of his actions. You can print this page out, or do what my parents did: get me in a moving car so I couldn't leave. Whatever you do, you must tell. Drugs are not toys and they are very dangerous to all involved.

It is not ratting out your brother to tell your parents. He will be mad at you for awhile but you could be saving his life! Go on the internet and look up info on Ecstacy. Show the info to your brother. You can go to nida.com or some other web site that gives you honest info. Ecstasy is deadly.

hi well you are in a very tough situation...but dont worry...have u talked directly to your brother...try doing that....show him how much his body is being harmed....it might be a good idea to look around and find some hard core facts that might make him think about it....i dunno if that will work..it depends..also it is very important that during your conversations with him....try to show that you are not judging him about anything...and ask him the real reason that he is doing drugs....if he doesnt give a response then try to see his behavior...wat is he insecure about...it might be he is trying to overcome a weakness by doing drugs...or he might be just following his friends...and it that case it means he doesnt think for himself....
it is a very sensitive issue so dont show ur bro that you are against him...be very patient..!
and lastly if nothing works....then tell the parents....it is very true that most likely...like all parents, urz would freak out and restrict your bro by all means...but that leads to rebellion and would prolly lead him to do more drugs....so try to explain this to ur parents if you see this problem coming....
well i dunno if anything i wrote here will help you...but hope everything gets better...gud luck!

how can you tell your parents? as soon as possible , i have 14 years old son and i would never ever get mad at my other child for coming to me and telling me about the problem, i would be thankful for that because that is giving me chance to do something about that before its to late , don't worry - they will not get mad, they will be glad that you tell them , trust me they will start checking messages too just to know what is going on, in that case they have to - its part of controlling the situation and knowing what is going on at that time - don't worry , just tell them please

What you need to do is tell them is that you suspected your brother was doing drugs, and that you needed proof so that’s why you looked at his text messages, and that they need to know the truth so that they can help him.
