Centrum is just one of many brands, if in doubt go to ConsumerLab for a comparison.

There are 3 factors you have to consider:

(1) Which vitamins to take - they give you very different effects and must be taken according to individual's needs
(2) Dosage - sufficient for it to be effective but not too much to cause adverse effects
(3) Frequency - some may accumulate in your body, so sometimes you have to stop for a while

Just give you an example of how Vitamin C can affect your work-out in a favourable manner:

Multiple studies have found blood and plasma levels of vitamin C to be diminished in those who exercise.

Athletes receiving a one-gram vitamin C supplement showed increased work capacity at a heart rate of 170 beats per minute. Subjects served as self-controls and were given a placebo for two weeks and then vitamin C for two weeks. During vitamin C supplementation subjects repeatedly demonstrated decreased heart rates at all levels of work when compared with the placebo trial.

Always meet your nutritional needs from fresh wholefoods, however, for someone who exercises regularly, I would recommend Vitamin B complex.

They are responsible for providing energy to the body during the conversion of glucose, from carbohydrates. They are also critically required for the metabolism of both fats and proteins, as well as the health and maintenance of the body's nervous system.

Because of the physical stress from intensive exercise, it's wise to get more vitamin B rich food to prevent a deficiency. Without adequate vitamin B complex from foods, you can experience one or more of any one of these symptoms:

mental problems
heart palpitations
heart arrythmias
fibrillation
indigestion
chronic fatigue
chronic exhaustion
paranoia, vague fears, fear that something dreadful is about to happen
nervousness
ADD (attention deficiency), inability to concentrate, irritability
feeling of uneasiness
thoughts of dying
easy agitation, frustration
inability to sleep (insomnia)
restlessness
tingling in hands
tingling fingers and toes
rashes
crying spells, inability to cope
soreness all over

Vitamin Supplements and Constipation

Usually unless you have iron-deficient anemia, are at risk of anemia, or have had recent surgery, you may want to avoid extra iron. Iron supplements can cause constipation and will require you to increase your fiber and fluid intake.

^_^ good luck

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

Some hard pills even vitamins can cause constipations especially for people who are on low fiber high protein diets.

If you plan on taking any supplements, make sure you are getting enough natural fiber to your diet mainly in the form of fresh fruits and veggies.
