In the USA we are now enjoying the work of our ancestors. We are riding on the progress that past Americans made. We are reaping the bounty of the scientific community that developed the Internet, space travel, plastics, metalurgy, mechanics... You name it, our citizens probably had a hand in developing it. All of this is what we rely on today in our "advanced" Western society. The USA has been the world leader in so many ways but we are destined to fall behind in this race between countries. The most advanced cultures are the ones that invent and develop the technology that keeps that culture ahead of the rest. How can the USA stay ahead of the other countries if we do not develop the best and the brightest minds in science? How can the destined to be second rate science community in the USA stay ahead of the science communities in other countries if our country does not concentrate on develping the greatest minds in science? A short time ago, any of the greatest minds in the world wanted to come to the USA so that they would have the freedom and the infrastructure to support their work. This is changing, many of the highly educated are choosing other countries as their destination because the US is no longer the best place to be. This should alarm you, this should alarm anyone that has any concern about the future of our country. The only way we can change our future is to make changes now. I have no answers as to how we can make it all better but emphasis on the education of the children here would be a great place to start. Oh, we could also create an incentive program to motivate the greatest minds of the world to come to the USA, if we can't make them at least we could steal them from other countries. So as for the banning of science? I would say that doing so would be entirely TOO short sighted.

Shut your computer down. Science brought you that technology. Turn your TV off and don't ever drive again.

What do you consider spiritual development? I'm not sure how someone can think that taking Science out of life is going to make people develop their spirituality.

Yeah. I'm sure science is the cause of spiritual development being undervalued.

there is no problem with the scientific method, the problem accurs when one takes a philosophical position as an axiomatic assumption THEN looks at the data through that assumption

in the cases of technology, medicine and agriculture you are talking about the repeatable, testable and observable situations that the scientific method apply to

in the case of origin science the investigation is more akin to the sleuthery of historical studies and less precise .. less like mathematics... more like detective work

bottom line... try and get those humanists to give up their religous assumptions they bring to origins studies as philosophical baggage taken before looking at the data but lots of luck

first of all without science you wouldn't even be writting this nonsense due to the fact that science developed the computer you are typing on. second god is a myth and science will always prevail. third religion spawned from philosophy, the same place science came from.

No more should science be banned than a religion, such as christianity, that promotes hate and intolerance. When you start banning anything, at some point, everything gets banned.

Science is what allowed you to ask this question in a forum such as this. I guess this question must serve no purpose then.

No, keep science, but apply a little logic and ethics to it. That would be nice.

science is the study of life. I guess your kind of obnoxious to think that life is not important if you are the "good religious follower", seeming how god DID create it.
