My good friend recently asked me to go to prom with her. She told me that she was going to ask one of her other friends but he likes her alot and she apparently doesn't want to with someone who is in love with her. Her mom said "Why don't you ask Chris because you don't have to worry about him liking you." I told her I'd love to go, but is she going with me just for the sake of having someone with her??

If you really want to go with her and think she asked you because she really wants to go with you and have a great time together...go for it. If you are just convenient, you could do better. (In my opinion)

Yes. And you can pretty much count on having a lousy time with her because she will be thinking about this other guy, having a lousy time because you will get your hopes up too high, or having a lousy time because she'll ditch you for this other friend. It really is not fair for her to take you for these reasons. I'm suprised you agreed. That is, unless you have a crush on her..which seems very likely. IF that is the case, then all the rules change.
