This one is from the Olive Garden:
1 pint of Heavy Cream
1 stick of butter
2 Tbsp. Cream Cheese
1/2 - 3/4 C. Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. Garlic powder
In a saucepan combine butter, heavy cream, and cream cheese. Simmer this until all is melted, and mixed well. Add the Parmesan cheese and Garlic powder. Simmer this for 15 - 20 minutes on low. You may wish to season with a little salt and pepper. I have done this with half and half, but we prefer the heavy cream. But I wouldn't try it with plain milk.

Quick 'N' Tasty Alfredo Sauce:
1 batch
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream (do not use non-fat)
parmesan cheese, grated
1 tablespoon butter
cracked pepper
crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1. Melt butter in saucepan and add sour cream slowly, stirring constantly.
2. Shake in Parmesan cheese while stirring until sauce thickens.
3. Add cracked pepper to taste. Add optional crushed red pepper for a fiery twist. Pour over pasta & serve immediately.
4. This is enough sauce for two normal servings of pasta.
5. Recipe can be doubled, tripled, etc. depending on servings.

12 oz dried egg fettuccine
1 stick [1/2 cup], plus 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano, plus additional for sprinkling
2/3 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Method
Cook fettuccine in a 6- to 8-quart pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup cooking water, then drain pasta in a colander.
Melt 3/4 stick [6 tablespoons] butter in a 2- to 3-quart flameproof gratin dish over low heat. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat, lifting strands. Add cheese, reserved cooking water, cream, remaining 3 tablespoons butter [thinly sliced], salt, and pepper and toss to combine well.
