Depends on the type of salad. If I want the chicken to be a neutral ingredient I rub it with a little olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper and grill (or brown in a frying pan and finish in the oven.) If an Italian flavor would complement the salad I marinate in bottled Italian salad dressing before grilling. If the salad has an Asian flair marinate with soy sauce, ginger, garlic (and a little honey or brown sugar if I want some sweetness) before grilling.

You can either grill it or put it in the oven. Doesn't really matter as long as it's cooked thoroughly. If you are putting it in a salad I'm guessing you'll be using a dressing correct? In that case don't over do it with seasoning. Some season salt , or just salt and pepper should do it. Also I love salad with chicken so just a side not in case you don't want to go through the hassle of preparing the chicken go to the grocery store and get some of those pre-packaged already cooked strips of grilled chicken. I've eaten them many times and they're good and convient.

I like to marinate mine with Allegro marinade, then grill it on the grill. The hickory marinade is the best. Or roll it in flour, and fry it in a frying pan with a little oil.

A really easy - and tasty - way to do this...marinate in Italian salad dressing for a while (maybe an hour). Grill or broil.

This makes really moist and tasty meat for salads, sandwiches, dinner....or snacking!
