My mom and dad won't let me listen to music with the F-word. The only band that says the f-word is blink-182. Even still I can only have one of their cds. I have heard all of the swear words from family. I am trying to find a suitable way to approach my parents in a way that I sound mature enough to listen to explicit music.

You need to stop and think that even though you may hear that language from their mouth you are still living under their roof and you need to respect their wishes that you don't own that CD with those words on it. At a later date you may be able to figure a way that you can get it with your parents permission.

Don't you just hate hypocritical parents? I hated mine and I am thirty. My advice, just buy the clean version of all the records you want to listen to. Cuss words never improved the quality of music anyway. You aren't missing anything.

how old r u? but hmm.i'd say all parents r like tat, doing double standards. not trying to teach u bad things, but i think it'll create a lot less friction if u juz listen to it when they're not around or sth. on e other hand, u should try to encourage them to speak less of e swear words as well, if they dun want u to do e same as them. do it subetly, like saying it's bad influence for younger siblings, or things like tat. i used to try to speak with my parents, but to them, a "no" doesnt mean "perhaps" or "yes", until they have seen tat u gone through it n still surviving, they'll gradually let u spread ur wings. it's all about taking it slow, n easy.

They are teaching you values, why do you need to listen to the f word anyway? Ask yourself that.. Is that who you are? If you answered yes, then you have a long road ahead of you.

your parents suck if they wont let you listen to blink... and even if you did listen to them, how would your parents know if they were swearing... just put on some headphones or something, and your problems solved
