Personally, I count to four in Japanese over and over again...ichi...ni...san...shi... repeat as needed. I used to do the four count in German: ein...zwei...drei...vier.. .repeat as needed. I think I chose four because of the common time signature in music. Don't think I ever said "ommmmmmmmmm" in my life, except then...and maybe another time...uhhhh...not sure.
