We lived in a suburb of Chicago and I found out my son was doing that year's afterward.A neighbor's child was killed doing that.My son and his friend's would jump on a slow moving train ride it to the next town and jump off.Very scary.

The train poses no danger to the riders. The riders ARE their own peril, their own executioner, by doing something so stupid.

You know, most of them die from electrocution. This is a grizzly, horrifying way to die. That's why it fell out of favor as a device of execution.

But, stupidity is just nature's way of thinnin' the herd............

It certainly happens in Germany - have a look at this video on YouTube (it's but one of many) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZvm5H4F-aA
It has happened here in the UK, but is not nearly a prevalent as appears to be the case elsewhere
