You don't have to do ALL of these... but begin by doing just ONE of them... when you have done that for a week... keep doing it... and add ONE MORE to what you are already doing... keep doing those two both for another week... then add ONE MORE... etc.

Also, start praying every day, pouring out your heart to the Lord in the name of Jesus, as you take these steps. He will help you by giving you strength and comfort along the way. After all... He made you the way you are... He wants to see you healthy... He loves you just as you are without any changes at all, so if you happen to mess up and eat too much one week... it's ok... pick up and try again. He's got good plans for you!

These things may be healthy for you for the rest of your life, and are relatively easy to incorporate, if you begin with just one and work up to doing more:

- drink two extra glasses of water per day

- walk around the outside of your house/yard a few times per day (it's ok to walk slowly at first) (do some general stretching of your legs as a warmup and a cooldown)

- what is your favorite sport? is it tennis, swimming, soccer, etc? try to get more involved with that sport if you can, even if it is only to join a local parks & recreation club for a weekly game... this will be fun for you as well as promoting fitness

- while you're waiting on a bus to arrive, or at school waiting for lunch/recess to be over with but you're finished eating, or waiting on your parents to get done shopping at the grocery store, or waiting on a doctor to call you back into their office... walk! use any "down time" for some productive, relaxed, casual walking... it won't be your main exercise

- ask your doctor about some stretches that can be done while you are sitting in a desk at school or sitting at home watching television or working on your computer (you can probably find some of these on the internet too, but asking your doctor is always a good idea)... you will be amazed at how much more "fit" you will FEEL just by doing some simple stretches when you are otherwise doing "nothing"... this does not take television time away... it simply makes the time healthier

- get your doctor to recommend some simple indoor exercises for you to do every evening, 30 minutes after suppertime

- if you normally drink colas, sweet tea, coolaid, or other sweet drinks a lot... substitute fruit and vegetable juices where possible... i tend to stay away from sugar-free drinks because of the chemicals that are added to them... drink juices, skim or 2% milk, and water, as substitutes when you can... but I also recommend keeping one cola or tea per day on the diet if you are a real cola- or tea-lover... if I deprive myself, first I go crazy, then I go off the diet!

- if you are a big candy eater, begin rationing out your candy accordingly (it does NOT help me to cut out candy altogether... it's as if I get all depressed without some form of candy)... if you would normally eat 2 candy bars per day... then buy a package of MINI-bars of that candy, and limit yourself to 2 mini-bars per day at the same times as usual... eventually you may graduate yourself down to 2 of those bite-size pieces per day, but I don't recommend cutting back that severely at first (if I feel deprived, the diet is sure to backfire on me... cutting back some, but not altogether, is the only way that works for me... your mileage may vary!)... eventually, you might cut back to only ONE small bite per day... but I haven't gotten to that point yet

- at mealtimes, fix your normal size plate, then put back one small spoon of each item on your plate (or throw it away into the trash, or feed it to the pet if it's pet-edible and you have a pet) (if you tend to overeat a whole bunch and you know you heap your plate in extremely gluttonous fashion every time... you might put back a larger spoonful of each item!) [OR] if you normally don't eat much on the first plate, but you go back for seconds, stop going back for seconds... and don't eliminate any spoonfuls from the first plate in that case

I have lost 120 pounds over the past two years, and I feel great. Prayer and developing your relationship with the Lord is the thing I recommend most of all, because that has benefits other than just weight loss!! But everything above, I have tried with good success in combination with prayer and seeking the Lord. I would also recommend that you get some good walking shoes real soon, and get some of those foam padded shoe inserts that fit the shoes really good... that way your feet won't get sore from the walking.

All my best to you, and God bless you from a sister in Christ Jesus

I just lost over 20 lbs. since November thru Weight Watchers. I was very impressed with their approach to healthy weight loss!

There was no starving and they taught me how to eat a balanced and healthy diet - at 14 you are going to have to play this smart - not eating enough is as unhealthy as overeating.

Are you a active person? Adding more exercise (even if it means walking a little each day) will make a difference.

Try cutting down on sodas and empty carbs like bread, chips and cookies. They have a lot of calories but won't satisfy your hunger. Drink more water and try to eat 3 healthy balanced meals a day (you won't feel the urge to snack if you have had a "real" meal).

I would really look into Weight Watchers. If your weight is really a issue ask a parent to help you look into it more. They have a on-line membership if there are no meetings in your area.

You also might go to www.smallstep.gov
It has some great (and free) health and diet info for adults and kids!

Good Luck and stay healthy!

Since being young already is an advantage, try to eat healthy and don't skip any meal, as a matter of fact you should be eating every 3 or 4 hours, 6 times a day, counting breakfast, lunch and supper including one snack between meals, a small one that can be a fruit or nuts, and try not to eat after seven at night. And of course try doing some exercise, even if it is only walking 45 minutes daily. Stay positive and don't try any fast or miracle diet, they don't work and you will end gaining more weight back.

You need to eat a healthy diet and exercise. Make sure that you eat plenty of fruits and veggies and drink water...try to stay away from soda, and junk food as this will not help you to loose weight. As far as the exercising goes you can start out by walking 30 minutes 4-5 times a week, and doing some light weight work to strengthen your muscles. After you get used to doing something you can start running/jogging to kick the weight loss into gear but make sure that you still do strength training and abs too. good luck.

Fats are nothing more than stored acid. If you continue to take acidic food, even with exercise you cannot get rid of fats. Therefore you must solve the weight problem at the source : eating acidic food. By taking alkaline food, you prevent the intake of acid to create more fats. Besides doing exercise, you must eat only alkaline food.
Read the book "pH miracle for weight loss". See photos of people losing weight at ease. If you want to loose weight super fast, there is an alkaline liquid diet. According the book, people are loosing 10 pounds or more within the first 8 days. Go to the website below to see which food (and even fruits) that are acidic.

Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad fats, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event. Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculator to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age).

You can force your body to lose weight with not enough calories, but if you continue it, you will starve to death. With an abundance of healthy foods, you lose weight just as fast, but only until you reach your ideal weight. You can continue eating this way the rest of your life and always be at your ideal weight.

!st thing is becareful, do not starve yourself. Lots of exercise, you can walk around a track or on a treadmill, everyday for 30 mins. Also, cut starch, bread, and fatty foods from your diet but remember after you meet your weight goal not to go back to excessive eating habits. Good luck! You can also Weigh Watchers or try South Beach Diet.
