My cat had turned 6 months and was an outdoor cat. She got pregnant and had a litter of 2. after her kittens were ready to leave, we took both of the kittens to my neighbors house. They were willing to take both cats. My cat kept bringing her kittens back or her kittens kept coming back by themselves. I personally think that she brought them back because i think they were to little to walk that far. Anyways after the second time we took the kittens back, my cat just disapeared. she never came back and my neighbors say they haven't seen her. The kittens are still there now and are almost 8 months old now. there has been no sign of the mother since then.
My friend says its bad for cats to get pregnant at such a young age....what do you think?

just to tell you that my cat has been gone since probably late August of 2006. She wasn't spayed. She was a stray that we took in and pretty much adopted our dog. She hated going in the house and was very scared of everyone except me. B4 she had her kittens she always was gone running around and she would come back everynight. Then when she had her kittens she was around more often. she normally wouldn't leave when she was pregnant. Then when she had her kittens and they were old enough to walk around she would leave again for a long time and would return every once in a while to feed her kittens. She pretty much would leave the kittens with the dog. The dog was kind of like a babysitter. I believe that my dog is suffering the most out of the whole family from the loss of the cat. He just isn't himself anymore. He always seems so lonely and sad without the cat. They were best friends and they always slept together. The dog wouldn't even go in the dog house before the cat came. thanks!

not unusual..this is why most cats are spayed/neutered at 4months of age. between then and 6 months they mature. a 6 month old cat is equivilant to about 16 yr old human.

It would be rough on a cat (kitten) who's only 6 months old to go through pregnancy since she's not even fully grown yet. She's probably out looking for her kittens and may be depressed because she keeps getting separated from them. She'll come back; she's just a little confused right now.

It is young, but if she was in heat and became pregnant, then she was old enough. The number of kittens a cat has is determined much of them time by their age and the number of litters they have had in the past. I know this is hard to hear, but when cats are outdoors, they face a lot of predators - including other animals and humans. I am sad for you due to your loss. Hopefully you still get to see her kittens form time to time.

No 6months is OK.our cat had her litter at 4mths and we didn;t know they could have kittens so young,.,.she got fixed after that,.,your cat must of really missed the babies to keep bringing them home,.,usually when cats have kitten ;your only suppose to give 1at a time so the mama doesn;t go crazy,.,we had 5 so we got 3good homes and kept the 2girls.1 is brain damaged due to having the birth sack on too long,,,,she pees on the floor as she doesn't know better,,who would adopt her with[out putting her down,.she is the sweetest though,., sorry about your cat going away, was she fixed,if not ;maybe she went to make more babies,,,that what they do and they get pregnant rite away again,,..,,good luck.,

It's very dangerous for a cat to be pregnant under a year old. It is also horribly irresponsible to let an unspayed cat outside...actually, it's irresponsible to let a cat outside at all. Hopefully, she was picked up by a cat rescue but the risk of getting hit by a car, other animal attacks, poisoning and disease are very high.

Yes it is, her bones havnt stopped growing and to have kittens at such a young age might cause bone deformations due to the lack of nutrients.
I would probably think that she has taken off and back to being a stray, you probably wont see her again.

its bad for cats to have kittens at any age. There are too many unwanted cats/kittens in this world already!! I would go get her spayed. She will be less likely to get cancers and be healthier. Than you want have to worry it.. here is some info about why you should get her and her previous kittens fixed!
