I think that there are major flaws in the Judicial system for sure. It seems that it really comes down to how much money you can spend on an Attorney. I have a friend that got into some trouble and when he was seeking an Attorney to help him he got different scenerios of what would or could happen for the crime. To me, a crime is a crime and should have set guidlines on punishment. It's ludricous to me that you can ask 3 or 4 Attorneys about the same crime and get 3 to 4 different answers/cost, toward same defense. I knew a 19 year old kid since he was 6 years old. He has always been a very decent and polite young man, but he made a very tragic mistake by drinking and driving and killed someone. He was sentenced to 10 years. About 8 months later a young girl did the same thing and was given probation and community service. He and his family had very little money. The girl and her family were wealthy. So, I strongly believe that money talks, and you can walk. Or, if you happen to have connections with the right people, that helps. I don't know that for a fact, but that's my opinion. It's not right, but it happens, Nobody cares about it until they go through the system. They don't understand that making things better on many subjects takes a unified effort. So much for that.. I do think we should write our Congressmen and Senators because sometimes, if there's enough interest, they will actually start investigating issues and try to implement some changes. Anyway, if you are an Aussie, I can assure you the US isn't any better. Have a Good Day.

We have the same crap here in the states. Judges basically are legislating from the bench and it seems you have the same problem down under. The only known cure...term limits.
