There are many styles of of baseboards in different materials. Wood is always more expensive than a composite material due to the cost of routing the wood, instead of forming it in a mold or extruding it. Same goes for crown molding.

Go to your local Home Depot and take a look. It will be in the lumber department and comes in lengths from 8 or 10 feet to 20 feet.

Use adhesive if you want to avoid filling in the holes left behind by nail heads, Liquid Nails Molding adhesive works pretty good. Also in the future, use a utility knife to score the mating edge of any article that is mated to a surface that has been painted to avoid the problem you encountered.

something that goes with the crown moulding....mine is all very simple, and there's a traditional colonial baseboard- about 5 inches high, with 3/4 inch quarter-round in front of it. I always paint mine the traditional high-gloss white which makes a nice contrast with wall color.

Go to lowe's or home depot. Both have a large selection of moulding in different finishes. Also different types of wood & a fiberglass type too. They also have sev. styles of crown moulding too.

There are several synthetic materials available these days , but you just can't fake the look and durability of a good hardwood trim .
