Save a little more and get the Logitech Z-5500. This are thunderous home theater speakers disguised as computer accessories. I have them and it's the best $231 i have ever spent( i found them on sale at Dell). It's THX certified 5.1 Dolby digital. you can connect up to like 5 things. Coaxial, optical, direct and a couple other i don't use. Follow the links and do a little research to find the best deal on them

try craigslist, Any 5.1 stereo system that has a R/L audion input can be used. Just use the mini plug output ( the one for media speakers) on the computer with a "mini-plug to RCA Y adapter" and you are good to go. No need to worry about video since only the sound is what is being processed. Hope this helps

my cousin has that logitech system. its sounds good and every thing but the subwoofer is to big for the rest of the speakers. the bass is toooooo deep and drounds the other speakers. and the receiver on this is rediculous. i think you should go more toward a boxed system from sony. much more worth the 200 bucks and you get a real receiver.
