Yes, knowing He's there has often given me the courage to do things I would otherwise have been afraid to do - from walking through a dark parking lot to my car after work, to getting a new job in a new state. Even the thought of dying someday isn't terrifying, because I know He's lovingly prepared a place for me in heaven. Yes, I know bad things sometimes happen to good people, but it's always for a reason and He will make it all right in the end. Besides, the God who could create the earth, part the red sea, heal the sick and defeat death can surely handle anything. You just have to have faith. Remember Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego.

Not the old testament, he's all evil and stuff. Telling people to kill their sons just for shits and giggles, to see if he'd do it. Sounds like a purebred sociopath to me. Plus he's caused more wars and deaths than any other cause period, so no I don't feel safe, if anything the idea of God makes me scared that some guy is gonna crash planes into our buildings and whatnot because people in this country don't worship him in the same way.

Yes, if you utilize the meaning of the numerous concepts located in the Bible for your life. The Bible teaches you about the goodness of God and the consequences of doing bad things, It replicates life,...... there is good and bad. Even if you were not a believer, there are lots of valuable lessons and morale boosters, that can promote self-growth within yourself.

There's a line in one of the Narnia books that pretty well sums up how I feel about God. Someone asks one of the people of Narnia about Aslan and wants to know if He's "safe."
The reply is something to the effect, "No, of course He's not safe. But He's good, I tell you."

The God of the Bible? Not so much really, with all that eternal flames of hell and old testament wrath.
The God that I believe loves us unconditionally and works with us to be better people? yes

Not safe like a "rabbit foot" against bad. But safe like I am loved, and accepted, totally and completely. There is no comparison to his safe love. So in that way YES.

Hell, no. A coupl'a hours ago a Q&A showed he'd kill me for my beliefs. What kind of idiot would feel safe around *that* kind of lunatic ego. Thank God he's just a fake! All praise FSM!
[The *only* safe feeling is that I know that God's not real.]
