If i had to replace the speakers i have now, i really couldn't say. At least $1000 each for the fronts, (I've gotten away from the HT in the last 5 years no surrounds).

Speakers are like everything else.
$20 speakers are about 1/5th as good as $200 speakers and they are about half as good as $1000 speakers and they are about %90 as good as $10000 speakers and they are about %99.9 as good as $100,000 speakers. Diminishing return at an increasing rate for an exponential increase in price.

So at $2k a set it takes a good chunk of change, moola, cash etc...... to hear much of a difference.

In my opinion you should spend 1/2 to 2/3 of your budget on speakers.

Nothing else makes more of an impact on your sound system as the speakers.

The second most important element is the amp. The more clean power the better no matter how big or small the speakers are.

Everything else is just tiny fractions of improvement for the dollar spent....ie cables, type of DVD player, etc.

It all depends on the amplifier and the size of the listening room and furnishings in the room.I would try to listen to some and if i liked the sound of one or two 1 would see if i could afford to buy them.So you can't put a price on speakers If you did you would be restricted in your choice .

I would say $10 grand or more for just the front's. I will be building a home theater room and want good equipment.
