I think that suicide is more common now becuase:
-Parents work later hours arent around to talk to there kids, cook, and just be romodels as much as they used to be.
-Its easier to get drugs, alchol and other things then it used to be.
-kids r being more cruel in school.
This is just my oipion and these things have lead somepeople i know to attempt suicide.. what do u think?

I know for me I can feel like killing myself even when everyone is around me, I just don't feel connected to them. My parents stress me out so it's actually better that they're not around. I don't really think that has anything to do with it, at least for me.

I think people try and commit suicide for alot of reasons. Those who are serious, because they feel theres no way out. Alot of people see suicidal threats as away to get attention, because they don't feel loved unless they are being fussed over.
Things are not hopeless, things do get better, the way you think does change as you get older, and most parents try the best to do what they can for their children. They aren't perfect they make mistakes, Just like someday when you have kids you'll make mistakes and then your kids will blame you for the reasons they don't want to live.
Some parents are truely neglectful, but alot of kids who's parents work, and aren't around, still have what they need and alot of times more and feel unloved because their parents are gone. The truth is you can't understand real neglect and abuse till you've seen what its really like.
If your in therapy I think thats good, because talking about your feelings and getting insight is a good way to heal and move forward.

Yes I do agree. All of what you have presented is true. And, some parents just rely on school to teach things like don't do drugs, or don't commit suicide. Personally, I'd believe my parents before I would a complete stranger on a subject such as that.

I do agree with you. I also think with parents working so much, there seems to be less love and affection given to the children--and to everyone. Many families are not families--they each go their own way and one never feels a "part" of something or needed.

i agree, all those factors could contribute leading to suicide.
Among school children the most common cause of suicide is still depression. In adults, the causes are multifactorial, but drugs and alcohol are high in the list

Your name is "death and life" and you ask this question?

No I don't think it's more prevalent. I think they do it for one reason...and one reason only. They are lonely, and think no one will understand them. That's it.

The two people I know that have attempted suicide (one succeeded) were very popular, had a close family, and didn't drink or use drugs excessively. (That'll blow your bell curve, now won't it?)

I think if suicide is more common it's more attributable to lack of opportunity and overcompetition for resources; as well as low quality and low emphasis on education.

I don't agree with you. I've attempted suicide a lot and my parents were always there.

I disagree, I tried to kill myself and my family was there for me. I had a very easy life and i still tried. I had a very large problem with depression.
