okay so im 14 and 5'5
i use to be anorexic when i was 12 to begining of 14. they sent me to 3 ana rehabs and im ''all better'' the problem is that im 40 pounds heavier!!!!. when i had the disorder i weighed always 80-95 pounds. (95 for 5 months) i was 5'4.

i look back and i see that i was skin and bones.

but now im 125!!! thats huge!!
everyone see's the difference!
they even nicknamed me '' miss piggy'' and tell me im chubby. my best friend even says so!. she asks me if i could ever look like a model again. she's 5'2 and 105 pounds. The things she says and how she looks make me so jealous that im not like her anymore. she can be mean sometimes and when she tries to make me feel better, she says that im medium and that clothes don't look THAT bad on me.

so back to my question!!
why is it so hard to loose weight now that im not anorexic? i wanna get to 110 pounds

You are no where near fat, or chubby. OF COURSE they will see the difference! You put on weight you should have had in the first place, its all the weight that you never had because you had an eating disorder. They are used to you being tiny, and yes they will notice because your not that tiny anymore. Trust me your perfect...Im 5'7, and around 150, and thats normal. So your fine!!!! And tell them to get a fuc*en life, if they continue to call u fat or w/e.

And now that your eating it is harder to loose weight. Before you were putting nothing in your body so obviously it was easy to be as thin as a stick.

Did I get your last detail right? you wanna lose 2 pounds? I'm sorry, but that's a very minor detail. I might not be one to talk (I don't know anyhting about anarexicness (if I even spelled that right) and I'm 14 and 115 pounds) but I do have a story. I've lived down the street from my cousin my whole life. She's my best friend and always has been. She's two years younger thatn me but she's really mature. Age has never mattered. In the last few years her body type has changed from skinny to moderate. I'm not saying that she's fat but she hevier than I've ever seen her. Growing up we were always the same size and we always shared cloths as well as everything else. so now she's heavier and she nows it but I never really talk about it. Sometimes others do and I'm sure she hates it but she can always come to me if she needs someone to treat her normally. This week we're schedualled to go see a movie and go swimsuit shopping (our annual tradition). We won't be able to bring one size of suits into the room and try them on together but that doesn't mena it's not the same as always.
So you're not the same as you used to be. Different isn't a bad thing. And this BFF of yours doesn't seem so great about it. I'm not saying that she's a horrible friend and that you should stop seeing her but next time she comments on your weight just tell her to shut up in a stern voice and maybe she'll get that it bugs you.
But really, 125? That's way better than the rest of America is doing and it's way better then how you were doing. So congratulations and good luck with that "friend".

First thing you have absolutely no reason to need to lose weight. Because aneroxia is a lifetime battle and you could go back to it, very easily. I am 5'0 and 130 lbs and I am not fat. That being said the reason you are having a hard time losing weight is b/c your body has a natural survival instinct therefore it stores every little calorie that it can. All of this is probably b/c of your previous eating habits. Now if you have a high percentage of body fat consider working out. However, considering your age and height your body is probably changing rapidly. I gained a good bit of weight around that time b/c of puberty. Around 16 I was borderline bulemic and after I recovered I also gained a little weight. I'm sure you are getting bigger boobs, butt and hips, which is natural and could also explain your weight gain. So i would suggest exercising and eating a properly balanced diet. Your friend is not a good friend if she knows you're struggled w/ anorexia and called you "miss piggy" she probably has a few issues of her own, so ask her what her problem is.

Hi, If you can, try doing some Bikram Yoga. I recommend this not only because it is a great cardio workout ( it is done in a heated room), but it works wonders for regulating your metabolism. This means that if your body needs food, it will start to give you that signal. If you have had enough food, it will also give you that signal. One problem with recovering from anorexia is that during the whole process, the body loses its natural full/hungry regulators. Look it up on the web, Bikram yoga college of India, go to class finder and see if there is a class in your area. Mentally and physically, there are so many benefits, and particularly in your situation, I think that it would really help to balance out the imbalances you have created in your system. As well as sort your mind out. Good luck, I've been there, and wish you only the best in finding true peace and happiness.

I am also an ex-ana and I am struggling with the same thing.

I think part of it may be that you know how miserable it was to be that thin and while your mind wants to be that skinny again, your body is really holding out against it because it has already been through that ordeal.
It also might be that your metabolism is slower or that your body goes into starvation mode much easier than it did before you were anorexic (i get this all the time, if I skip lunch and dinner, I get really lethargic when, pre-ana, I was able to go 2 or 3 days without eating much and I was fine)

But if you just want to be skinnier because your friends call you names, I wouldnt go there, also be careful about losing weight because you might fall back into old habits.

I dont think that your weight is "fat" your friends are just used to you being stick thin, so they notice a change. and they might also be jealous that you were able to be that skinny (not that it is healthy). It is hard for me to see how I look now as opposed to how I looked when I weighed 80 lbs.(I'm 115 now and am 5'6".) but would you rather be miserable and skinny or have a shape and be happy? I always ask myself that.

also joining a sport might help, I am in a sport and not only has it helped regulate my eating habits, but it has also helped me build and tone muscles that I lost when I lost weight. =]

I really dont think that you are fat, but if you are that intent about losing weight, then maybe talk to your gp about losing a little bit of weight, but I would not recommend it because you could fall back into old habits.

I really dont think that you need to worry about your weight because you are still filling out and it will all even itself out.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!
