I want to hear all the excuses. With so much noble blood having been spilled to give you the right and with so much spilling daily to protect that right, I just want to know why you fail to honor their sacrifice.

National issues yes, i vote. the local stuff is run by a political machine in this state...plus the state could care less about it's citizens. if fact they call and tell you that when you have a life threatening medical emergency. But! they do want the money from you

I have voted republican... I've voted democrat. I even would have voted independant if Perot had stayed in the race (had his family not been threatened by the mob).

However, I am not so sure I will be voting this time around.
It depends on the candidates. If Edwards is up, I will vote. If hillary, obama, or a bush admin clone is up... I have no interest in taking part in voting for the massive disaster that will strike.

I wish Clark would run. We need a military mind in the white house that knows what is going on at a middle class life level.

None of the others will be able to handle the situations that are going to arise before 2010.

The dems up to bat do not have the political and military background combined to deal with the Iranian threat and the mess that has been made in Iraq. I'm all for pulling out of Iraq. We should not have gone in like we had. But just dragging your troops out of a civil war you caused is going to get us the one thing the American people didn't want: more terrorism on our soil.

IF it is to be done right, you gota separate these people. You gota take the Sunni's and say: 'ok you got 1 month to move from point A to point B or you get the refugee camp. Then the same for the sheites. The only other choice is carpet bombing them out of existence. We will NEVER weed out every terrorist. It is a money hoax and scam and the politicians and powers that be are cashing in on that at our expense. These people are teaching their kids right now in schools we have rebuilt for them, how to better kill us. We are training units of their men, and they take the weapons and turn on us or desert and either kill our soldiers or the opposing religious faction.

This is why i *might* vote for edwards... and definitely would clark or another military leader... but if anyone else goes up to bat I have no interest in taking part in the nightmare to come.

I Just started voting I never did before because I used to think they would only put who they wanted in office anyway. and far as spilling blood a sacifice was made for me long ago. I honor that blood I believe that if we would go back to that blood things would be better for all. I can vote for that, but everyone have there own reach for what they do or don't do. we should learn to respect it if we like it or not.

Amen my friend. I am tired of people bitching about the left or the right or whatever and then you ask them who they voted for and it's "Oh i don't vote. It's a waste of time" Well, if you really believe that then be quiet because if you don't vote you forfeit any right to complain about the government. Look at the last 2 elections as well as ballot measures across the country that passed or failed by just a few votes. Get out and vote, it does make a difference.

In Texas there is no point in voting. Check out how the Electoral College works. Did you miss the last election? Gore won the popular vote. Bush is made president...
Why would people bother?

This is America. Eveybody's looking out for themselves. I use to not vote, but know I do. The only reason I do is because of the statement you made in your answer. I still know in my heart that it doesn't matter who get's into office--things will NEVER GET BETTER. They will continue o get worst.

I used to vote, but not any more. Why not? I've talked about it rather frequently before. Look at this link and in addition to reading my answer to this question, continue clicking on the links within that answer, too.

I do vote. Even here in Utah where my vote doesn't really count in national elections...I still vote.
