I'd say the pricing is a little steep, but so far every Bose product I've owned or experienced has really impressed me. So I'd say yes they are that good.

With the exception of the BOSE 901 and the 301 front channel stereo speakers, I have never been a fan of BOSE.

Wow i can't believe how many people haven't heard a good set of speakers.

Bose sucks! They are horribly over priced.

a $1000 Bose speaker has the sound quality of a $200 speaker built by (almost) anyone else and a build quality of a $20 speaker.

When you audition speakers bring music with mid range voices for example Tori Amos Little Earth quakes. You may or may not like her but it has a lot of vocals, it will clearly show you the flaws of Bose!

NO! BOSE SUCKS!!!!!!! no highs no low's just bose! no bose will never sound good nomatter how much you spend so many people are unhappy with there bose the return them its a waste of money the home theater i recomended below is far far far superior than any bose on the market. Not to mention that bose technology is old and obsolete. they havent changed their speakers in a while and use paper drivers instead of better meterials my drivers are made of cermatallic copper!

if you want to spend a little less and still way outpreform the bose but you want to keep the small speakers this will suit you.

For that price you can do a LOT better!

A $300 Onkyo or Yamaha A/V Reciever, 4 Paradigm Titan Bookshelf speakers ($440), a HSU VTF-2 MK subwoofer ($500) and any old DVD player will SMOKE that BOSE system in every way, shape, and form

ok i sold bose and worked in electronic retails you cannot go wrong with bose get the 3-2-1 system just to small speakers and a woofer and a player of course. it used to range $750-1000. you should get it for $900.00. the BEST make sure you atleast consider it. Sony is really good in home theatre as well. but i know i would get the Bose 3-2-1. best of luck.

When it comes to buying loudspeakers forget what anyone says about a particular brand/model. Ttry to listen to as many speakers in you budget and buy the ones you think you can live with this is the only way. They all have their own characteristic sound.I have heard Bose recently and i would not buy them because of their "doctored " sound which to me sounds overly bright. This is how i feel about them but you might like them in which case buying them is right for you and that is all that matters.

difinitely!!!!!!!! I have a friend who bought a set of BOSE 901's when he was in the military back in 1976. The speakers dried out from non use from having kids and married for 18 years, and they were all dry rotted and useless. He had the origional reciept and sent it to bose and they replaced his speakers with a brand new set and a new equalizer even after almost 20 years!!!!!!!!!! Man do they sound awesome and they are unlimited wattage on the 901's

yes they do have great sound for home theatre... but for computer speakers i think Logitech dominates. the 2.1 logitech speakers i got for aroudn 40 bucks can beat out a 200 dollar pair of bose. this is my opinion and about 80% of my friends opinions too.
