how are family obligations decided?

Question

how is it decided in a family who can't leave home until younger sibs are raised ; or. until Mom and dad die so they are cared for in the comfort of home,. Some people seem to be expected to give up their own lives with marriage and children to be caretakers. Why? and Why, Why does the person comply ; always has puzzled me. is it more than emtional blackmail of a strong selfish person against a weaker one who is used?

You teach people how to treat you. Parents, siblings and other family members can and do take advantage of people if they are allowed to do so. You have to be your own best friend. One of the 10 commandments is to honor your father and mother but that does not mean for you to give up your own happiness and chance of a future. Parents should not rely on their one child to care for them if they have other children also.

I knew when I was young I would be stuck with my Mom and I am proud to do it. I have honer and believe in duty. Sorry for you but do not give up find a guy that well take you and your parents. If you are good looking it well be easy. If not find an older man he well think you are beautiful because you are young. Do not give up and please be happy in what you have. When I get low down I go to church. No not to get close to God as I pray to him at home. There is this guy that is in a wheel chair and he is up lifting. If he can be happy so can I. If you are not dieing from some thing be happy with what you have. You can not attract some one if you are miserable. You are only as happy as you make your self be. yes as a good responsible parents who may sacrifice staying at home just to bring up their kids,but they r really enjoying.when their kids r grown up n start working independently,then they may start enjoying their lives by going somewhere holidays.that's y u can always see that most of the tourists r old people.
