Boyfriend gets mad if I just look yet it is okay that he looks and makes comments as well.

It isn't okay - it's the double standard. Some men still like to believe that it's a man's world, but women have just as many rights as they do. We're just different. One sex is not better or more important than the other, and we are all entitled to the same rights within a relationship.
That said - men naturally look at other women. I'm sure that sometimes they're not even aware that they're doing it and other than looking - it shouldn't be a big deal. When they make comments, that's another story. It's called disrespect for you. On top of that - getting mad at you for doing the same thing shows that he is one of 'those guys' who hasn't quite grown up yet and believes, as a child does, that he is still the center of the universe.
All I can suggest is that you completely ignore when he does it, and when you do it yourself and he complains, tell him that either you're going to have a deal that when you're together - neither of you are going to noticeably check out others or that both of you can. If he disagrees, then he could be like that about other things, which have far more impact, and that could spell trouble down the line ...

I think it's because guys start staring and rating girls in their minds at a young age. I've seen boys as young as 12 stare at a girl or even a woman they find attractive as they walk by and make derrogatory comments.
Tell your boyfriend that you understand that it might be a habit of his to look at other women, but as long as he's with you, he won't be doing that anymore - at least not when you're around. It makes any girl feel insecure and threatened when their boyfriend can't even control themselves when they see a pretty girl - explain this to him and if he isn't even willing to try to resist his urge to stare at a half-decent looking girl walking past him, then he's not worth it.

It's not okay. Go ahead and look at all those yummy guys around you. Who cares what your boyfriend says about doing so. Don't obey the double standard...

It's an ego thing. Believe it or not guys are more sensitive than girls. It's okay for you to look as long as you don't touch. And if you do it in front of him... complement him too.

i think it is the other way around..the guy can't look cause its "obvious" he's cheating or something, but a girl can look cause she's the steady one in the relationship.
or you're boyfriend is really insecure and a hypocrite.
